Here is how I Study. I read via the Bible APP, and if I need a thorough deep dive into a passage, I search up in ChatGPT.

It’s best to look not at single verses but at chapters and read the Bible like it’s communicating a message that’s bigger than each individual sentance . Often we think the bible is hard to understand because we look only at a single verse that is plucked out of its context which is the explaination itself tbat we’re removing that explains what the verse is meaning to say and how it fits into the concept it’s addressing

often we don’t see the forest because we’re looking to intently at a single branch on a single tree

the Bible’s new testement is made of four accounts of the gospel and then full letters sent to believers not hindreds of one liners , but actual sensible concepts and understandings from God to man

we could understand the Bible much better if we look at ll the verses leading up to and coming from the single verses we quote . Often they are presented erroneously and taken fully removed from context

Welcome to CC, Brooke!

Regarding the study of Scripture, start as you have with simply reading it. Ask Jesus to give you insight and understanding. Anything that seems too complex for now, leave for later.

Of course, if you haven't already acknowledged your own sinfulness and need of a Saviour, do that now, and trust that Jesus has fully paid the penalty for your sin. :)

Hello @brookegreas, welcome to CChat! I'm glad that you found us and joined in the discussions with us :)

As far as Bible verses/passages/chapters/books of the Bible that have impacted my life go, there are so many that it would be hard to choose just one (I even love Leviticus because it helped me begin to understand what was pleasing to God, which was what I wanted to do from the moment that I became a believer a little over 38 years ago .. because I knew that I had left a life that was anything but pleasing to Him as an unbeliever :().

I recommend the Gospel of John all the time, especially to those who want to know where to begin to read the Bible for the first time, so I'll go with that as a favorite book (it has certainly had a profound effect on my Christian life, and it continues to today :giggle:).

I look forward to talking to you out on the other boards too!

God bless you!! (Numbers 6:24-26)

~Deuteronomy (David)
1 Thessalonians 5
23 May the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body
be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
24 Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass.

Hi there!

First you will always want to invite the Holy Spirit in your heart to guide you in His Truth. Its very important to not let outside noise or any perceived ideas about the scripture influence you, allow His Word to guide you and if what others say you need to verify its what the Bible says, there is a spiritual war out there. And scripture tells us if it goes against God’s Word, it’s not from God Isa 8:20 let His Word be the light to guide you. Psa 119:105

The bible is a very deep and complex book and has lots of layers but can be understood with consistent study and prayer.

I like to read the Bible from cover to cover which I have a few times and learn more each time. But I recommend doing this in addition a to a word search. For example what is faith, what is love, and different subjects and look up the word and read how they all compliment each other and explain what it means through scripture. The bible is one continuous book and will explain itself if we allow it to. Most reads very plainly, but there are several parts that do not but you can usually find your answer through prayer and other areas of scripture.

If interested I can also give you some great bible studies, feel free to PM Me.

God bless!

God is true love as described in 1 Cor 13:4-7. God is the Author of the Whole Bible that is to me a gigantic love letter from God to us all to see truth over the errors in this world still happening today, (Misinterpreting)
Eph 1:13 sealed by God to see the whole truth. Eph 6,7 to see we are accepted and forgiven in God of Son, Jesus to agree willingly to get taught new by God, whom no one sees. in flesh anymore today, as said in 2 Cor 5:16 to me then see 17-20 and be reconciled back to God in thanksgiving and praise and get taught truth of the true love given us to do willingly, choosing to over having to
