Do you like to be the one putting on the show or the one watching the show? What kind of show do you like to put on, or what kind of show do you like to watch?

Do you like to listen to some good preaching, or do you wish you were the one up there doing the preaching?

Do you like to hear a good song or are you trying to produce your own album?

Do you like to watch figure skating or do you wish you were the one out there on the... This one may not be relatable for everyone. Especially me. But some people in my family sure do like to watch it.

Comedy is getting popular these days, to the extent that multiple comedians have had to post announcements on their social media warning about scalpers. "If somebody is trying to charge you more than this amount for a ticket to my show, that is not legit!" Apparently stand up comedy is really popular these days. Lots of people want to go and watch that kind of show.

On the other hand I know of at least one comedian who will do a show even though he's pretty sure he won't get paid for it. I have heard him talking on a podcast about going to some clubs and he can tell just by looking at the owner that the check will probably bounce, if he does get one. His accountant will get all upset about, they haven't paid you yet! He's like, I know. I wasn't expecting it. The accountant will ask, then why did you do the show? Because I like to do comedy. *shrug

So which one are you? Or are you both? Or neither?

I'd rather watch..

If its a preacher, please quote your scriptures and make your point. I'm good for about 15 to 20 minutes before my mind drifts off somewhere.

If its a concert, please keep it to no more than three songs. If its good, you can add a fourth. I've pretty much had my song fix by then. Refer to my previous comment.

Even with coffee, there's a point when I'm done.. Yes, there can be to much of a good thing.

If I can think of anything else, I'll add that later!

😀

This ties into the thread about movies and TV shows to avoid. For Rod, avoid anything that says feature length film on it.

I love watching/listening, but also enjoy performing! I'm actually about to sing at a little local concert in about 2 hours! I'm scared cuz I haven't done anything quite on this scale yet! But I hope it goes well and God gets glorified!

So my brother and played his guitar and sang with me while I played my keyboard. We sang How Great Thou Art, I Hope You Dance, an original song I wrote, Living Hope by Phil Wickham, and Reckless Love. (I'm not a fan of that last song but my brother wanted to sing it last minute lol)

Considering we barely practiced together before the concert it went okay! It was a lot of fun!

I'll look up Living Hope, but I know the others except yours. I hope I can hear it some day.

I didn't know that you played an instrument or sang. How long have you played keyboard?

I've played around with pianos since I was really young, then in my teens applied myself to learning more. I mostly just play by ear, but did take lessons for a few months in my early twenties so I have some familiarity with music theory.

I absolutely love to sing. One of my favorite pastimes is sitting at my keyboard and just playing and singing it out!

That's beautiful.
I love to sing too.
I just looked up that song and now I remember singing it as a congregational at the big church I used to attend.
My friend and I sang Grace Greater Than Our Sin and Amazing Grace Earlier. I enjoyed singing this just now.

I'm impressed that you write songs too. What style do you write?

When I have better service I'll try to watch the video you posted!

I haven't written many, but they were different styles. I enjoy softer type music so that's what I tend to write.

Glad to know that.

It's a lyrics / karaoke video of Living Hope.

Friday I held a service at the nursing home. A resident played piano. She used to play for her church.

I was asked to hold and Easter service there last time. Afterwards I started in the hospice ward and the Lord led me to a lady's room who had recently lost her husband. She was depressed and needed encouragement. Most of all she needed the Lord. I was honored to lead her to Him, so now she has a home in Heaven.
I learned Friday that Regina Thompson died last week.

I mentioned that because if you ever want to play more for others and share your talent to bless other audiences, many nursing and assisted living homes have pianos. There would be a lot who would enjoy your ministry to them @HopeinHim98 .

Wow that's touching. I'm glad you were able to share Christ with her.
