Yeah, about that... Are there still Elvis impersonators around there? It was a big thing back in the day, but does anybody in Las Vegas still even remember who Elvis was?

I wanted Elvis to perform the nuptials, but my wife nixed that idea. We got married at the Hilton on Las Vegas Blvd. across the street from Circus Cirus. We didn't gamble much and managed to come out on top by $70. The whole city is like a theme park. Most colorful city at night that I have ever seen.

It sounds like you gained a wife and another rare thing, left Vegas with more money than you spent.
That must be a great memory for you both.

My online dating experience wasn't horrible, it was just BAD. I wasn't even mad, I was disappointed. Been chatting with a " Michael B. Jordan kinda lookalike-ish" guy, for 4 months, only to show up looking like a malnourished Theo James. Like I'm not about looks, I'm about looking at the person and knowing who they look like. He would have just said "hey I'm just using some cool pictures to make impression". . I like thin guys too I wasn't going to just leave him, we had a great connection. Until he went to the bathroom and vanished. He should have atleast told me he felt bored, or changed his mind, or wasn't ready for relationship, or maybe atleast paid half the bill. .... I make an honest living so I don't mind bills, but like don't eat and just walk away.

On a related note:

This wasn't a date, but a friend coming through this area on a road trip. The friend was flying in, and I made some assumptions that my friend was not also assuming. See... I like to always have my own vehicle with me, so I don't have to depend on anybody else for transportation. I was assuming that one lone person, traveling in an unfamiliar area, would also want a vehicle, if only for safety. So we were talking about plans for this road trip, and I was blithely assuming my friend would get a rental car.

Meanwhile my friend was like, "What is UP with this jerk? Is he too cheap to pick me up at the airport, or just too lazy?" That's not what was said, but probably what was being thought. But yeah, my friend was confused about it for a time.

We finally got on the same page though, and had a good laugh about philippines dating service. Well, I did anyway. It just never occurred to me that somebody might not care if personal transportation was at the mercy of whatever vagaries were present in an unfamiliar place.

Online dating has been a mix of hilarious and horrifying for me. One time, I went on a first date and the guy showed up in full cosplay as a pirate. Apparently, he thought it would “break the ice.” It did, just not in the way he hoped 😅 I also had a brief but sweet connection. We chatted for months and even planned a visit, though it didn’t work out in the end. Still, it was real while it lasted. So yeah, some hits, some major misses, and a lot of stories to laugh about!
