Eve did not sin by eating of the tree.

I agree that there is some picture language in Genesis 3, for example, the bruising of the head and heel. But the happenings recorded in Genesis 3 are real, not just a story with a spiritual meaning. Adam would indeed have to work for his food, and the ground would bring forth thorns and thistles. Eve (and all mothers after her) would indeed experience pain in childbirth. And so on.

You don’t yet seem to grasp that spiritual truth is reality and makes the world go around physically, so do not dismiss or disparage it.

I agree that Satan was the serpent. We have confirmation of that in Revelation:

(Rev 12:9 NKJV) So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

But where in the Bible is there any indication that Satan was the tree of the knowledge knowing good and evil?

You say that God did not mention the word "fruit" in regard to the tree of knowledge of good and evil. He does talk of not eating of that tree:

(Gen 2:16-17 NKJV) And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, "Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die."

What part of "every tree of the garden" were they to eat, if not the fruit? What part of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil were they not to eat? The bark? The leaves? The trunk? The roots? Eve certainly understood God to have meant "fruit":

(Gen 3:1-3 NKJV) Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman, "Has God indeed said, 'You shall not eat of every tree of the garden'?" And the woman said to the serpent, "We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, 'You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.' "
There is no indication in the scriptures that God placed the tree of the knowledge of good and evil in the garden. It is unlikely that He would include a tree with enticing forbidden fruit in the presence of Adam and Eve, as this would create temptation, which is not aligned with His nature. Nor, would he put a stumbling block in their way causing them to fall. This notion aligns more closely with actions attributed to Satan.

When Jesus mentioned, “a good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit,” he was using a metaphor rather than referring to a literal tree and its fruit. The emphasis is on the moral character of individuals; engaging with those who have moral integrity is beneficial, while it is wise to avoid those who lack such integrity.

How can a rational thinking person believe that literal trees have knowledge to do both good and evil? According to Jesus, wouldn’t Satan be considered a corrupt tree whose fruits are evil, and wouldn’t God forbid Adam from eating his fruits? It is high time we dispel the notion that trees have the cognizant abilities or mental skills to reason or problem-solve even though some people do talk to trees.

There is no indication in the scriptures that God placed the tree of the knowledge of good and evil in the garden.

“Now the Lord God had planted a garden in the east, in Eden; and there he put the man he had formed. The Lord God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground—trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food. In the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.”
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭2‬:‭8‬-‭9‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.”
‭‭John‬ ‭1‬:‭1‬-‭3‬ ‭NIV‬‬

““The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by human hands.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭17‬:‭24‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Those look a lot like “indications” to me.

Unlikely? Based on what? He created a tree and told them not to eat of it. Don’t draw your conclusions and then subject Scripture to them.

When Jesus mentioned, “a good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit,” he was using a metaphor rather than referring to a literal tree and its fruit.
He was being both literal and figurative.

You’re not totally off base here, but you’re not getting the whole point either.

You’re attributing something to the trees that Scripture doesn’t. The text doesn’t state that the tree could think, but the serpent said “For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.””
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭3‬:‭5‬ ‭NIV‬‬
In that he spoke truth because that is what happened.

Transgression. Not sin From G3845; violation: - breaking, transgression.

Sin: Perhaps from G1 (as a negative particle) and the base of G3313; properly to miss the mark (and so not share in the prize), that is, (figuratively) to err, especially (morally) to sin: - for your faults, offend, sin, trespass.

You will never find a verse that states Eve sinned. If she did, prove it.

Rom 5:12 Therefore, just as through one man sinG266 entered into the world and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned—

We have no right to add, subtract or distort the meaning of scriptures to hold fast to what we "want to believe" "as" truth. Show me where Eve sinned and how. Don't leave scriptures out. Don't add meaning not in any scripture, and don't distort any meaning to hold fast to your belief and correct me. I am open to altering my beliefs. Are you?

I'm sorry. Eve wasn't there when the command was given to Adam (Singular) and in every reference to God's command thereafter God uses the singular "You" stating it was only Adam He gave the command to. If you are stating that you are to obey made up commands of God someone else tells you are commands, ... God commands you to stand on one foot till I tell you differently." If you don't you are just as much a sinner as Eve was at the time.

Prove me wrong. Using scripture. Did God give Eve a different command? The "do not touch" it part. Show me where. Did God ever use the plural "You" referring to both Adam and Eve receiving the command? If made up commands of God are to be obeyed. "God commands you to fold my laundry and weed my garden." Not doing so is a sin. You said so.

You are correct. God told Adam do not eat from the tree of of knowledge of good and evil. But when Eve came along, Adam said to Eve, do not eat the fruit from that tree and don’t even touch it. Adam added words on top of God‘s words. That’s why when Eve saw Satan sitting on the on a tree of knowledge of good and evil, he had an apple his hand. She saw that he did not die. Eve was only guilty of temptation. Adam was guilty of sin. The whole Bible is about words. What did Jesus say, it’s not what you put into the mouth that they filed you, but what comes out of it

Yeah, I’m not too tech savvy. I’ll try to figure it out.

I didn’t say that the trees are like that. You’re putting words in my mouth. Jesus says he is the tree of life.

Adam said to Eve, do not eat the fruit from that tree and don’t even touch it. Adam added words on top of God‘s words.
We do not know what Adam said to Eve as Adam's words to Eve are not recorded in Scripture.

All we know is what God told Adam and what Eve told satan.

We cannot say with any certainty whether "Adam added words on top of God's words" or whether Eve added the words.

No indication in the scriptures that God placed the tree of the knowledge of good and evil in the garden? What of these verses:

(Gen 2:8-10) And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed. And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads.

I agree with your second paragraph. Jesus often used picture-language. He called Himself a door, a Shepherd, a vine, a light and bread. However, His use of those pictures doesn't mean that every time we read words like door, shepherd, vine, light and bread in the Bible, we have to interpret them as picture language.

Satan is referred to as many things, a snake/serpent, a dragon, etc. but never a tree. I don't believe that trees possess knowledge to do both good and evil. I agree with what Jamiesson, Fausset and Brown say in their commentary about the tree of knowledge of good and evil: "so called because it was a test of obedience by which our first parents were to be tried, whether they would be good or bad, obey God or break His commands."

Good, because the truth that humanity sinned and died spiritually from the beginning is the point of the parable.
