I am mixed with ancestry of several European nations. It is no great mixture. The children after us including any from me would have yet more mixture. But there were ancestors who were a true Scotsman (I can't say Scotsmen, right? Autocorrect is not recognizing that but just Scotsman). The B of my initials is for the last name, or paternal lineage name, I have that would be derived from ancestry in Scotland.

Well a lot of Scots moved from the UK when the English sort of tried to take over their land. The removed a lot of crofters (tenant farmers farming small plots of land) and tried to turn Scotland into a giant sheep farm.
Some of them escaped to USA, many went to New Zealand. Dunedin is mostly Scottish based and is called the Edinburgh of the South. The land there is quite similar to Scotland, we now have salmon in the rivers, we have our lakes, but we don't have heather, just gorse.
I just wondered if there are any real Scots left...in Scotland? Or did they all get Anglicised. I mean I have met a few...in Scotland, but would be interesting to chat with any online. The wild scotsman I encountered when I was over there really had a bone to pick with the English. I just didn't realise how big their grievances were. But maybe it was just this one guy. He was the tour guide meant to be showing us around on the bus...but ended up kind of screaming about politics and probably resented us foreign backpackers/tourists 'invading' his country. Otherwise he wouldn't need to be a tour guide he'd just be a stonecutter/stone mason or something, and catch a salmon every now and then without needing a permit.

I was trying to be meek and assure him I'm just a kiwi who's visiting. I'm not trying to colonise or steal another country! I just happen to speak English is all. Anyway that was an experience...a drunken Scotsman with a temper. He was probably triggered by a lot of backpacker's ignorance like Mike Meyer's character in All Things Scottish.
Scots have their bagpipes, Chinese have their Beijing operas, both sound like yowling cats.

That just is not true. There are plenty of Scots people who are Roman Catholic, (16% of the population of Scotland described themselves as Roman Catholic in the 2011 Census) and there are other non-Catholics in Scotland apart from Presbyterians. Also, there are Irish people who are Presbyterians, Baptists (there's even a Baptist Bible College in Ireland) and other non-Catholic denominations.
A Scottish person remains a Scottish person, and and Irish person remains an Irish person, regardless of his or her beliefs.
Incidentally, why say in the OP that Glaswegians are also accepted? As Glasgow is in Scotland, why shouldn't Glaswegians be accepted?

There are rather a lot of Englishmen. Do you have much problems with giants in England? Smelling your blood?
I mean Scotland has Nessie, but I heard England has giants. And Wales has dragons. Ireland is pretty safe, they only have tiny leprechauns.
I have never heard that England is particularly known giants, in the way that Scotland has the Loch Ness Monster and kelpies, and Ireland has leprechauns. Indeed, it is Ireland that has a rock formation known as the "Giant's Causeway." Yes, there are giants in English folklore, but as far as I am aware they don't feature more prominently than they to in the folklore of Scotland, Wales and Ireland.
I have been to Giant's Causeway. I'm supposing in the olden days they built one that hopped over to England, ate some Englishmen. Then the Englishmen got furious and tried to retailiate by taking over Ireland. They only got the Northern chunk.

I, too, have been to the Giant's Causeway.... and I've heard it actually goes all the way across to Scotland...
I've also seen the statues of the Kelpies, close to Falkirk...
And, I've been to Stonehenge... and I've done a boat tour of Loch Ness... didn't see Nessie...
Haven't seen any giants, either...
