Brothers and sisters in Christ.

Please pray for me. I've grown bitter and frustrated with people here at CC (trolls and false teachers etc.) and it's not good. I don't want to be reeled in by their activities but for some reason I feel it's my duty to stop them. I just can't seem to let them go. I don't like this. I want to ignore things that aren't beneficial in any way. I want to be confident in Christ and humble in Spirit. I want to speak words of truth and love, not words of non-righteous anger. In short, I want to be more like Christ.

Thanks, guys.

Galatians 5:15 You shall love your neighbor as yourself 15But if you bite and devour one another, take care that you are not consumed (destroyed) by one another.

Dear brother, it is so easy to get caught up and hooked in by the traps of disputes on here, and it's not surprising that you mention "not being able to let them go". When strife enters, then enters hatred and if the argument continues it becomes a prison out of which only repentance will take you out. I encourage you to pray for anyone here that has ever provoked or offended you, and remember to always state your belief but never return to "retaliate".

The trap you are describing is the result of back and forth verbal or textual "retaliation". Repent of it and hold your peace.
Ask for more of His love in your heart, more of his mercy, more of his wisdom to know how best to deal with false teachers and how to confront them without being taken captive by the spirit of strife.

God bless.

Perhaps you can do like I do. Tell them to get a double espresso at their local Dunkin' Donut and get a life while they are there. And an apple fritter.

Father, give this person wisdom in Jesus Name. A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

Sounds like Tintin needs a nice, long hug. And the tickle treatment, for good measure.

Sometimes you need to take a break from sites like these.
Also I might suggest as a fellow Australian that some of the conflict is a clash of cultures. These Americans can be a weird lot at times (only in context to our culture). For example I can make that comment here, and you will understand, whereas some Americans interpret that as a declaration of hatred. But you know I am just making an observation. This itself is an example of a cultural difference.

Do you really think the Israelities would have been overly friendly to the Samaritans if they had the internet back in the day?

I am praying, as you have requested. :)

Tintin, I vow to troll you mercilessly so that you can practice ignoring me. It's the least I can do.

No, really. I'll pray that God gives you wisdom about how to respond in EVERY situation.

I really get this prayer request. I think the mods need to be more involved, personally, esp. in the BDF.

Or maybe this really is just a test to see how we can learn to respond in love and not anger?

Praying for you Tintin, and for us all.

I'm not sure where this comes from. I have no problem with Charismatics. I take issues with trolls and false teachings. Also, I'm not hateful, but I do get frustrated and bitter with some members who don't do the right thing (again, not you).

Humour is the key here...

'...He is used to stern glances,
But it does not hurt him.
And Humour looks upon himself
At times with humour.

He is everlasting.
He is smart.
And nimble.

He will walk through everything and everybody.

And so, glory to Humour!
He is a courageous fellow!'

Matthew 7:21-23

…21"Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. 22"Many will say to Me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?' 23"And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.'

Ezekiel 2:6-7
6 And you, son of man, do not be afraid of them or their words. Do not be afraid, though briers and thorns are all around you and you live among scorpions. Do not be afraid of what they say or be terrified by them, though they are a rebellious people. 7 You must speak my words to them, whether they listen or fail to listen, for they are rebellious.

Ezekiel 3:18-21

18 When I say to a wicked person, ‘You will surely die,’ and you do not warn them or speak out to dissuade them from their evil ways in order to save their life, that wicked person will die for[a] their sin, and I will hold you accountable for their blood. 19 But if you do warn the wicked person and they do not turn from their wickedness or from their evil ways, they will die for their sin; but you will have saved yourself.

20 “Again, when a righteous person turns from their righteousness and does evil, and I put a stumbling block before them, they will die. Since you did not warn them, they will die for their sin. The righteous things that person did will not be remembered, and I will hold you accountable for their blood. 21 But if you do warn the righteous person not to sin and they do not sin, they will surely live because they took warning, and you will have saved yourself.”

Tintin I consider myself and all who truly belong to Christ are like the vessels carrying the Light of Christ in us , when we see darkness I believe we have a God bestowed duty to bring light in that situation , but if people are reluctant to change their ways its none of our business to make them change their perspective , leave them with their self made supreme principles, God will judge them on the Judgement day and you will get your reward and blessings for being an instructor to them.

Daniel 12:3
3 Those who are wise[a] will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever.

Daniel 11:33
33 “Those who are wise will instruct many, ..............

I will remember you in my prayer.

Tintin,

you are a very sensitive and likeable fellow.
just the fact that you are concerned shows us
that you are trying to develop discernment as
when to give and when to hold back.

as our Lord has taught us, there is a time for
every purpose under heaven, and it is so good
to speak the right words and the right time.

don't worry about dissenters, the trolls or contention,
remove yourself from that and try and do what Christ says,
'feed my sheep'.

A pastor once told me its not my job to save people, Jesus already did that.

Sometimes we take on burdens God never meant for us to have. we feel like its our responsibility and we need to remember to put it in God's hands and pray and ask God what He wants us to do.

I know i've fallen into the trap of pride and trying to MAKE people see the TRUTH, but we really need to pray and see if God wants us to speak the words or if He wants another to speak for Him so they can grow.

Don't feel like its you job to monitor everything, Trust God to have it under control and do what He moves you to do. :)

You always in my prayer Tintin :) if I haven't told you recently, I think your great :) and I thank God for allowing me to know you. God bless and keep you bro.
