I used to live in Perth in Vicky Park. This was a long time ago, but there might be a few cheap units down that way. Depends on what sort of accommodation you're looking for. It's always harder to find something over the holiday season as well. I also stayed in a caravan park in Armadale I think it was, and they rented out basic units with your own bathroom, loo etc at a weekly price, so they were cheap.
Also some student accommodation places will rent out units cheap as many of their students are gone, so they want to get the units rented out ASAP. You could even try bargaining with them.
Have you been looking on gumtree too? I've got all of my units on gumtree and haven't had any probs, as long as the bond money is kept separately through the Rental Tenancies Tribunal.

I used to call them templates, but Bob has always called them panels, so I go back and forth between the two... this one was more a "template" because it was something I had constructed and used before, but I took things off and added to it (including text) to repurpose it for Ruby so it is a one-off, and also tried to make it more ruby colored for Ruby

The person renting the property out has to lodge your bond money with the RTT (in some states called the Rental Tenancies Association - RTA) within a certain time. Then the RTT sends you an email with a receipt number. After you leave a property, if there is no damage, the owner sends the property report document I think to the RTT, and they will put the bond money back into your bank account. You can usually download the forms yourself online.
Here's the WA one but I can't see a link for the forms anywhere. It's getting late here too so I'm getting tired!
