That's because you have a problem with God. God is worthy to be praised. Jesus Christ is worthy to be praised. No other is worthy to be praised. It is right to praise and worship God and Jesus Christ. It is wrong to not praise and worship God and Jesus Christ.
The only thing shallow is you. To not worship God and Christ is 'dishonest'. Which places you in a bad category.

God inhabits the praises of his people!!!
Through praise and worship their hearts were raised into the joyous presence and peace of God, and provided God a channel for his power to operate in their circumstances. The Bible says that God inhabits in the praises of His people (Psalms 22:3). In other words, God “dwells” in the atmosphere of His praise.
