I have mentioned it here and there, but not talked about it a lot because I would rather focus on more positive things and not deal with people asking me about it overly often. The most extensive posts about my treatments and surgery are probably in Jerry's Midnight Confessions' thread, here, here, and here (<- those are links )
Being able to trust your doctor/s and medical team is a good thing! And certainly we know that the pronouncement of cancer upon our lives is no longer a death sentence. I was given a lot of conflicting information about my situation, and came to realize fairly quickly that my faith is in God, and so despite any uncertainty about what was really going on in my body, I gave it all over to Him. I do find it a little odd in your circumstance, that removing the cancer is not option number one, but, ha, I know very little about prostate cancer, and I have also learned, from talking with various people, and especially my closest sister, who is a retired emergency room nurse of almost thirty years, plus a cancer survivor herself, that every cancer is treated differently. So if your doc says, let's wait and see, that may be the best option for you, though getting a second opinion on that as well would not hurt. I only say that because cancer can metastasize, and you do not want it doing that and/or getting into your lymph system. I did just call my brother who has had prostate issues, but there was no answer; if I get any helpful/pertinent info from him, I will be sure to pass it along to you In the meantime, I wish you well
