Can anyone else define these terms as they are used in the Bible?

That would make God's plan of salvation a rather pointless endeavor.

"For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth." - God does not love all sinners?

You are correct about that verse, but that is not the verse we were discussing. You are not even in the same chapter. Why do you go to such lengths to twist things out of alignment?

"For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth." - God does not love all sinners?

2 Peter 3:9 “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”

    The meaning of salvation

Perhaps you should just stick with the Bible instead of splitting hayers with Thayer's.

If all people had to do to be saved is to be a believer, believe all the correct/sound doctrine of Jesus Christ they know to be true

Everything hinges on how you interpret the term "Believe". We have the carnal version and the spiritual version.

    Predestination is misunderstood...

I like the John stuff. Simplicity is elegant. I never found Rev to be difficult. I'm not sure that John understood everything He saw, but he was a simple and honest reporter. It is indeed good that we read everything, though.

Teaching Obedience to the Law Unmasked: Neo-Judaism in the Church

Yes, the Old Law is a revealer and shows us our need for a Saviour. It exposes sin and leaves us without excuse for not seeking salvation by the new and better Way. The Old Law is a pointer-forwarder.

    Predestination is misunderstood...

We need to give each other the benefit of the doubt and understand that statements can easily be misconstrued.

    Predestination is misunderstood...

Yes. Completely agree that it is pertinent to the modern-day Church. (y)

"For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth." - God does not love all sinners?

I can't see how. God is not to blame if we choose to run away and live as sinners in the far country. The Prodigal Father did not cease to love His absent son. He will receive all who return.

    Predestination is misunderstood...

Important to note who this is addressed to... the Church at Ephesus and the faithful, not just any particular individual. Some may jump overboard, but the Church will certainly reach that distant shore with all that remain faithful safely onboard. Ephesians 1: 1Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ...

Can anyone else define these terms as they are used in the Bible?

I would say that He is pretty wise if his Father happens to be the omniscient and perfect God. His "rules and opinions" ARE divine decree. God's "opinion" is perfect truth and binding law for all.

Did Jesus Die on The Cross for The Just/Elect/Saved Whose Names Are Written in The Book of Life OR

Jesus loved and died for every individual. It is sin which He hates. Those who He hated in the OT where pictures and symbols of sin. They represented far more than merely individuals. All men have sinned and come short of the glory of God, and it is to this group that John 3:16 is addressed...

    Rapture timing matters?

The resurrection and rapture at mid-trib is that of the two witnesses. The two witnesses is not the Bride of Christ. We are the Bride and shall be attending our Wedding in Heaven during the Trib below. The purpose of the 7-year Trib does not concern the Church, but concerns Israel. The Trib is...

Deeper into His word study - Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God

What a horrible and tragic situation to have no understanding of one's purpose and potential and the meaning of life in general. Our situation is one of great serendipity. WE ARE LOVED by the One who has the power and worthiness to deliver. PTL! :D Give your life to Jesus today! Revelation...
