    'Turning from sin'

Well, the thing with James 2, is what kind of faith is in question? Because Abraham, Rahab etc.. all had faith before doing what they did. Abraham.. was converted before offering up his son Isaac. Rahab used the faith she had to hide the people.. etc.. So it isn't saving faith in...

    'Turning from sin'

Yeah, God wants our obedience and love in serving Him. But that can only happen if we have full unconditional love and payment for our sin. We are dead in sin without Him. So any kind of reducing of sin b4 conversion is just putting perfume on a corpse.

    'Turning from sin'

Of course there's nothing wrong with a desire to turn from sin, but believing on the Lord Jesus Christ is just that. So someone believing is placing their faith in Jesus 100 percent and not any part of themselves. So I don't won't say you aren't converted or anyone else on this thread, because...

    'Turning from sin'

Yes..so what is meant by repentance is key. I believe you've got to be converted first before any behaviour change can happen, and so any behaviour change shouldn't be part of salvation. It's not a commitment to good behaviour but realising you are a sinner who can't do any good behaviour that...

    'Turning from sin'

In most tracts today, a form of this phrase is put with how to get saved. As well as believing on Jesus Christ, 'commiting your life to Christ '.. 'turning from sin'... 'making Him Lord of your life'. .. are put in with 'believe on the Lord Jesus Christ ' The issue with these phrases..is if we...

Is the true Gospel being preached today?

The admonishments to the churches in Revelation were not about receiving eternal life, but after conversion turning from sin. A church is of an assembly of saved, baptised believers in a congregation. These were for overcoming...not getting saved.

Is the true Gospel being preached today?

Hold on.. i'm saying repentance isn't a work of effort... it's still obviously part of salvation.. but it's not 'turning from sin'..it's a 'change of mind, heart' It's turning from unbelief to belief.. rather than .. 'im reducing sin in my life as well as believing on the Lord Jesus Christ'...

Is the true Gospel being preached today?

Something I have been looking at is how 'turning from sin' is put in gospel tracts..as part of salvation. In the past I never worried about it..but then I was shown how salvation is purely and simply believe on Jesus Christ. 'Turning from sin' can only happen AFTER being converted already...

    Are gifts evidence of salvation?

Of course pray for healing 😊 I'm just saying that what people call miracles now ... Most of the time may not actually be a biblical miracle...but God answering prayer thru healing over time . I'm not saying God doesn't do biblical miracles anymore.. But that they would be very rare and for...

    Are gifts evidence of salvation?

Healing over time? That isn't a biblical miracle. A biblical miracle was instant or near instant and 100 percent full healing from God. God of course does heal in the way described in the article.. dealing with the balances and tipping them in favour of recovery.. that's His work.

    Are gifts evidence of salvation?

No, eternal salvation is believing Jesus is God, that He died and rose again, and that by believing in Him , you have eternal life. There will be fruit from this, because the saved person has the Holy Spirit indwelling their soul..but it can be something not that visible to outsiders. The test...

    The Trinity.

At salvation though.. you'd be believing on the Lord Jesus Christ. So the person hearing may not know the mechanics of the Trinity. They would know Jesus is the Son of God and fully God..but knowing the Trinity fully takes time. Getting saved is not a long process.. Its instant. The moment...

Oh the private chat is all good to continue there. But anyways... The consecrating thing is more Anglican and Catholic. I believe a building is nothing but bricks and mortar and the local body of believers is the church. So that body could have no roof over their head 😎 I'm happy to...

Yeah when the 2011 earthquake hit here..Chch was getting too busy and had those problems as you say. I was wondering whether God was actually rebuking this city with that earthquake..but don't think that's a very sound idea with how natural disasters work. It was more likely part of the cycle...
