Do you believe everything the Bible says?

Are you referring to the Azusa street revival?

    Doctrine of Unconditional Election

Maybe that's the real issue then? Accusers object to scripture sustaining itself as the final proof of any particular doctrine being discussed. I've once or twice encountered those whose allegiance is grounded in their denominational doctrine more so than in God's words.

    Doctrine of Unconditional Election

You're not Calvinist? To my recollection I don't recall any other Christian forum I've visited or joined where in the accusation of Calvinist has been employed as a pejorative. Just this one.

    Doctrine of Unconditional Election

I agree with your pejorative assessment. And it's very common here among quite a few. It appears to be a tactic employed to discredit those they accuse of being Calvinist so to take the attention away from the fact most accusers aren't biblically literate. Or, their predilection for personal...

    Doctrine of Unconditional Election

Something I've noticed here is when we hold to what scriptures teach and without altering their message to fit our preference, we're accused of being Calvinists. It appears to be a tactic meant to imply we're not Christian, without making that accusation outright. And also what I've noticed is...

    Doctrine of Unconditional Election

You have no understanding of Calvinism. You might want to take time off line and commit to reading the old testament. There you will find God does hate. Much. ''“Bring your worthless offerings no longer, Incense is an abomination to Me. New moon and sabbath, the calling of assemblies— I cannot...

You did not quote scripture. You abrogated scripture. The adage in Proverbs 15:1 reads in full, ''A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.'' Proverbs 15:1 is a proverb, not a magical incantation that when expressed stops the wrathful instantly. Jesus soft words...

    Doctrine of Unconditional Election

I wonder how many actual Calvinists are on this forum, in comparison to the number of people are thought to be Calvinist yet are not.

Tyre would disagree. Emergency responders have also come under fire in this case because in part of their failure to make an immediate response to the call to the scene. They arrived something like 20 minutes after the call. I saw part of the video of his beating via the cop cam on one of...

    Doctrine of Unconditional Election

What most fail to understand when invoking the Greek language faith standards is that Jesus taught and spoke in Hebrew and/or Aramaic. Therefore, given the Hebrew language and grammar alone, and of course that of the Aramaic, the Greek translation would then come into question. Rather than be...

    Divorce...

Someone who abused their spouse is an unbeliever in scripture. And quite frankly, if a wife is being abused by her husband, don't worry about if the bible gives permission to get out of that situation. Get out of that situation. If you worship something that tells you to suffer abuse because...

To answer your questions, who says this, that would be those who state we have free will to choose the gospel, and can freely choose Christ.

"If your friends told you to jump off a bridge would you" is a bad analogy that should stop being used.

I see it as a challenge for someone to commit to introspection regarding their chatacter. You can be a Lemming, blind follower, and yes, jump off the bridge. Or, a leader and walk away with the chorus of jumper screams ringing out at your back.
