    The Chosen

I know Jesus had a way of asking but already knowing the answer.. my friend said you could look at it that way. But with the lds influence I'm not so sure

    The Chosen

Yeah, I think the belief among mormons is Jesus became God rather than being God from the very beginning with the Father and Holy Spirit. I think this series sort of shows that line a little.. but it's not obvious. Jesus still does the miracles which show His diety.

    The Chosen

I enjoyed the series because it got me thinking about the disciples as regular people and not somehow superior super faithful followers. The gripes I have are mainly that it showed the inspiration of scriptures in a way that didnt really look like inspiration and the way Jesus seemed sometimes...

What did the Ecumenical Councils achieve?

It's interesting to see that in the earlier days of Roman Catholics the worshipping of Mary, having one bishop over multiple congregations, and some of the rituals were not so common, so you can find some sound biblical beliefs among them. Over time though the aforementioned problems...

Is the Gentile Church "hidden" in the OT? Paul says: yes it is in Romans 10.....

Okay, well the most popular belief that I have seen is that there is now an 'invisible, universal' church of all redeemed. Most folks who believe this also have this starting at Pentecost.. which would exclude redeemed believers from the Old Testament, and therefore how are the OT believers...

Is the Gentile Church "hidden" in the OT? Paul says: yes it is in Romans 10.....

But if we a accept this, what of Old Testament believers? If the church is all redeemed... it would have started with Adam.

Is the Gentile Church "hidden" in the OT? Paul says: yes it is in Romans 10.....

Questions: is the body of Christ local or universal? It's one or the other but not both. If the church is all redeemed... and it began at Jerusalem... what about the redeemed of the OT? I still contend for the church being local only and beginning with Jesus and His disciples. All redeemed...

    Christ's Resurrection: A Historical Fact.

I can't remember now who wrote it, but in the Case for Christ by Lee Strobel one of the interviewees talked about other theories regarding Jesus' resurrection. One theory that bit the dust was the swoon theory.. that Jesus did not die but merely swooned on the cross. Problems with this theory...

    IS JESUS GOD

Jesus did not say 'I am God' but said 'I AM' ... which refers to claiming being God who spoke to Moses at the burning bush. So this isn't someone becoming God eventually .. But always has been.

Christian tithing was started by the Roman Catholic Church

Yeah... this isn't about a mandated system of legalistic money taking, but giving to God because of what He has given us to support Gods work.

Christian tithing was started by the Roman Catholic Church

Jesus' church began with Him and His disciples, added to at Jerusalem, and many many churches planted out of it.

Christian tithing was started by the Roman Catholic Church

How is a church going to pay their pastor, run ministries, pay rent for a building, pay to send people out, pay for power etc? This money comes from the congregation! So tithing based on the likes of Malachi is old Testament practice but the principle remains in freely giving up a part of...

would you donate to Copeland...and the like.

No I would not. I watched a youtube video on him doing supposed healings of disabled folks. There were no healings to see and one of the wheelchair users fell on the back of his wheelchair when he supposedly imparted the Spirit. Wheelchair was on its back. Kenny didnt say sorry but have the...

    dominations and a few questions

Best thing to do.. study the bible for yourself.. then see which church (not denomination) teaches as close to what you have found it. There are some straight down the line beliefs that would put a church in strange waters if they didn't believe them.. Jesus is God.. the Holy Spirit is God...

    After water Baptism

The baptism with Holy Spirit and fire was to the disciples who Jesus was talking to and happened at Pentecost with the Holy Spirit empowering them as a church. The question is whether this baptism applies to individuals alone without being assembled as a NT church, and whether this kind of Holy...

    Trinity Questions

At the time the Son was in the flesh, the Father not so.. but they were still one being, God. It is beyond human understanding.. not illogical or false... but on a different spiritual level. I suppose it could be like the body of person communicating with the head or the mind. The main...
