Global warming or upcoming ice age

Recently watched a documentary about the “little ice age” the ended in the mid 1800’s. This was most likely caused by volcanic eruptions. So a few large volcanos erupting could bring temps down again. God is indeed in control!

Miracle workers who couldn't heal themselves!!!

There is only one “Miracle Worker”: God, That said, we should always look to God for healing. And make use of the medical gifts He has allowed to have as well. And take care of ourselves properly in the first place.

    Should Christians celebrate Halloween?

Well, I helped out last night with a ministry giving away bibles and bible storybooks and coloring books. Many given out! Now we pray for those that took them. God can always make lemonaid from the lemons. Maybe next year, if you feel the absolute need to take your kids out trick or treating...

    Should Christians celebrate Halloween?

There is one positive aspect of Halloween. It is a time you can get the Gospel out to folks. A church in our area used to do a Halloween play every year where they contrasted the Kingdom of God vs. The realm of Satan and shared the Gospel of Salvation. I help out with a street ministry every...

    Grace Alone

I am not a Calvinist but I attend a church that is primarily Calvinist, although it is not aggressively pushed. Scripture is preached and the members are wonderful prayerful people. Simple music without many bells and whistles, which I appreciate as it keeps away folks that come to church for...

    Should Christians celebrate Halloween?

I realize that Christmas was a substitute for a pagan holiday, but to Christians, it is the celebration of Christ’s birth and lends an opportunity to share the good news. I give out all kinds of tracts at Christmas time, and folks take them. The traditional Christmas carols have a wonderful...

    Should Christians celebrate Halloween?

I can see the value in this. A family by us has a big fall party in mid-October as well. The fun without the association with witches, devils, and ghosts. Also, another family used to put on a spring costume party and square dance for church friends but nobody dressed as a witch, devil, or other...

Do any of you guys take the gospel out into the streets?

I am not that great at talking to strangers, but I try sometimes if I have an opportunity at a bus stop or park bench. Mostly I give out tracts. Recently I gave out nearly 50 Gospel of John booklets with Romans-road type bookmarks in them at a big festival. The Lord God can use these and I...

    Should Christians celebrate Halloween?

I remember my younger days as a non-believer young adult. I was a heavy drinker, among other things. But I remember on several Halloween nights as I was drinking and carousing, I had the strong feeling that something was not right. Trans people were out and about on that night, and that was...

    Should Christians celebrate Halloween?

I don't think we should. Our family (my kids) did not but I did when I was a kid. And I remember also my older sister toying with occult activities like seances and Ouija board during Halloween. Here is something from the Churchofsatan website:

    Church Attendance

Maybe start a new thread on the topic of Halloween and should Christians celebrate this? (I say no)

    Church Attendance

Yeah, I visit a Seniors Forum that has interesting conversation, but also I share Christ when i can. And I do so in a respectful manner and only when the topic related to faith comes up. This morning I let them all know how things like Ouija boards are tools of Satan when occult is pursued as...

Today i store away AC units. We have “Redneck Central AC”, consisting of 3 window units. Maybe someday we will splurge for a nice mini-split system, but that can run some serious money for a good system. Being in N WI, we don’t need AC for too many months.

Have you experienced the Holy Spirit?

I attended a charismatic Catholic meeting back before I was saved. The unintelligible tongues spoken seemed to impact me even though this whole "tongues" thing was not something I was used to. When I returned home, I felt energized. I went out running and ran my miles faster than I had ever run...

    60's / 70's Favorites

A song some folks tried to use to win me over to Christ. I was not a believer. Ultimately I turned to Christ and their prayers perhaps played a part. So this song is special to me.

    What are you up to?

Just finished getting my Medicare squared away as I turn 65 next month. Went with United Medicare Advisors, which went very well as they got me the lowest cost Medigap plan and explained all the ins and outs of Medicare. It is all very confusing but you can eventually figure it all out, with a...

    What are you up to?

Yeah, kind of like this movie. Took red clay out by the hand fulls through a small crawl space window in a small bin. Then I found a place to put it. I used it to bank up against the foundation. I lifted the sod, put the clay down, and then pressed the sod back over it. All the ugly red clay was...
