I don't think false believers have that plan B ever enter their minds. And I don't think ceasing to exist, to live, is an attractive thought at all. Most men would rather live in great miseries than to part with their life. If it weren't so, they would not fight dying so strenuously.

I agree. He reveals the spirit of the word. He is always teaching us. Even when you hear all of the differing opinions and interpretations of scripture in here, He is guiding you and renewing your mind and thinking, so that you will arrive at a balanced view rather than veering to one extreme...

I DO recall reading the verses elsewhere that say for a town that rejects the gospel/the apostles, on judgement day it will be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorah than for them...

I think it is true that it would have been better for Judas to have never been born than to have to face Jesus on the judgement day. I would rather to never have been born than to have to face that. As for Jesus saying Judas' punishment will be a worse punishment than for others, where is that?

mmm...not exactly. They are raised again at the last day and face the judgement. THEN they die again, the second death, and THAT death is eternal. Until the judgement, there seems to be (possibly) an awareness of their torment, as with the parable of the rich man and Lazarus.

Yes...it's odd to me. Death becomes not death but rather existence. Albeit an existence of torture, but an existence nevertheless. Death is the opposite of existence.
