    Baptism and holy spirit

Then no man at Pentecost heard the gospel being proclaimed in his own tongue and the church never began and the alarm clock will go off in a minute!

    Again, I disagree. :)

Not unless they are speaking in tongues when they shouldn't be. If they should be, God will provide an interpreter. ;) Hence, they will be hearing then in their own tongue.

And shrume, if one is preaching the gospel, they ARE speaking of the wondrous works of God!

    Baptism and holy spirit

Because it is a gathering of believers, not unbelievers. They can already hear what is being said in their own language. They do not need the gospel preached to them in some other language. But this is not a reason to forbid it - just to say that they should keep silent unless an interpreter of...

    Baptism and holy spirit

Tongues are true to the word. Just because some get up to extreme nonsense and counterfeiting, that doesn't make them any less true to the word.

It's what I call The Tolstoy Effect. Tolstoy wrote The Gospel in Brief. He removed any miracles he had ever seen someone abuse or cause confusion with. That's what people who look at tongues nonsense do. They remove/forbid whatever someone has abused. It's not wise.

    Baptism and holy spirit

I think there is no reason to expect that hearers still don't hear in their own language or that tongues work any differently. But we are really talking about a gathering where all speak the same language. In that case, they are believers. And they speak the same language. And at Pentecost...

They are rejected, not because they have not grown, but because He says He never knew them.

    Revelation 3:5

They are trying to say a man can divorce his wife for unfaithfulness. That God can divorce us as He divorced Israel, for unfaithfulness. But there are a few things to consider here. 1. We are told this law was not good for us but He only gave it to us because of the hardness of our hearts. 2...

Woman can't teach in the congregation

Garee, where are you originally from?

    Baptism and holy spirit

I never said they were. In fact, most of the recent conversation in here has been an argument over tongues not even being necessary for praying in the Spirit. They aren't necessary for praying in the spirit but some - and one man in particular - insists that they are, because of his private...

    Why God Allows Adversity

And no amount of temporary suffering now can be compared to the glory that will be ours then!

    Why God Allows Adversity

And we know that our Lord suffered for our great good and that we are being made more and more into His likeness, so why would we immediately assume that some suffering of our own would not be worked for the good of ourselves and our brothers? If we trust Him, we should assume it WILL be worked...

    Why God Allows Adversity

And we do know that this could be one possibility, because the apostle told others that he was suffering FOR THEM. For THEIR good.

    Why God Allows Adversity

Perhaps He will use them to show others their great faith in God DESPITE the adversity. Perhaps He will even KEEP them in the wheelchair for the rest of their life because He wants their testimony of faith despite adversity to reach others who would be encouraged to greater trust in THEIR...

    Revelation 3:5

And THAT is why flesh cannot inherit. THAT is why my flesh will never get there but has to die one day. Sexual immorality is not just outward actions. It can happen with NO outward action at all. It can happen in the thoughts. And NO flesh is pure in His sight. My flesh is condemned because of...

    Baptism and holy spirit

And yet, we ALSO know there is an extreme amount of nonsense and men like Hinn and others attributing their ridiculous antics to some awesome work of the Holy Spirit.

    Baptism and holy spirit

I can give advice but I certainly can't make someone consider it, but I think you are doing something that borders on dangerous in across the board stating that no tongues anywhere can be from the Holy Spirit, because when the unpardonable sin is spoken of, it has to do with attributing the work...
