    Philippians: Paul's "Stairway to Heaven"?

No doubt about that. I've been an avid Bible student for over 35 years, and I haven't even scratched the surface on the treasures it contains. God reveals new things to me every time I take a fresh look at His Word.

    Philippians: Paul's "Stairway to Heaven"?

That makes me sad because my heritage is the UK primarily. Why is that from your point of view? Is the Anglican church doing anything to change that trend?

    Philippians: Paul's "Stairway to Heaven"?

I can already see that even though Philippians is a short letter, it is dense in content, so this could take some time to get through folks, heads up. I'm only going to start with the very first verse today: Philippians 1:1 New King James Version 1 Paul and Timothy, bondservants of Jesus...

    Philippians: Paul's "Stairway to Heaven"?

As a Classic Rock connoisseur, I've noticed how great artists and bands reach the pinnacle of their success through long, hard work that culminates in creative breakthroughs like The Eagles' "Hotel California", Leonard Skynyrd's "Free Bird", and Led Zeppelin's "Stairway to Heaven". When I look...

    Favorite Bible verse/verses.

"And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose" (Romans 8:28). This verse shows how much our God loves us and despite the sin and suffering we endure in this life as Christians, God will weave it all together into...

    June 6, 1944: D-Day In Memoriam

Thanks. I plan to read about his presidency down the road, too.

    June 6, 1944: D-Day In Memoriam

Good point. I think it was education that made the holocaust = 6 million association in my mind. I've heard an 8 million number used, too. Regardless, what a tragedy and black mark on humanity. It is a fallen world that needs redemption for sure.

They do count for sure. My focus was the Jewish count. How many other millions of lives are the Nazis responsible for in WW2? ~50 million?

    June 6, 1944: D-Day In Memoriam

A tragic event that often gets overlooked in the scope of the entire war.

Foolish NATO generals want war, not peace

No. Which movie are you referring to? I'm out of the loop on most of the garbage "movies" being produced today.

Foolish NATO generals want war, not peace

WW3 has already begun politically, economically, and technologically at least. And, really, we are already engaged in the actual battle in Ukraine against Russia and the Middle East against Iran and their proxies; we just don't have "our boots on the ground" yet, at least not officially. The...

    June 6, 1944: D-Day In Memoriam

The Holocaust I'm referring to are the ~6 million Jews who were murdered by Hitler and the Nazis during WWII: The Holocaust | The National WWII Museum | New Orleans (nationalww2museum.org) And amen--if we don't learn from history, we are bound to repeat it. Our current era proves this is true...

And, there are those who truly believe the holocaust never happened and the world is flat. Beyond my comprehension and Lord help us!

    June 6, 1944: D-Day In Memoriam

I agree, and the axis of evil that's developing could make WW3 the "war to end all wars" if we don't get things in check swiftly.

Yes, the Russian counteroffensive was devastating on the Eastern front, and once the Western front was established by the Allies, the Nazis were in a crushing vice grip.

    June 6, 1944: D-Day In Memoriam

I did an informal survey at work yesterday asking people if they knew why June 6 is an important day in American history. Out of the 10 or so people I talked to, only two said it was D-Day, and one of them thought it happened in 1943. A couple of the young men in their 20s didn't even know what...

The United Methodist Church is finished

Very sad, and denominations are under attack by this dangerous wave. I went through this with the ELCA Lutheran Church a number of years ago, and my wife and I left with probably 30-40% of our congregation when they adopted LGBT ideology. I never thought I would see this, but even the Catholic...
