The absurdity and heresy of Preterism

I'm not sure if I follow what you're saying here. where is Jesus when he says this? does he say this before the triumphal entry on Palm Sunday?

    Catholicism vs Protestantism

there's always an element of subjectivity in any interpretation, imo. to be fair, though, if a person is going to interpret the scriptures that loosely, wouldn't it be fair then to also interpret CCC 841 and the lumen gentium just as loosely? Do you see what I'm saying?

    Catholicism vs Protestantism

(general question for anyone) Matthew 5:14 You are the light of the world. A city located on a hill can't be hidden. so... I'm not Catholic, but I don't think I'm anti-catholic, either. assuming that Jesus is saying that Christians are the light of the world, and continuing in the same line...

The absurdity and heresy of Preterism

not at all. it's very possible that John the apostle did write revelation about 95 ad. I don't know that the book of Revelation does talk about things that happened in 70 ad. well, which events are still too come is a matter of interpretation, imo. but God's word is always relevant!

The absurdity and heresy of Preterism

hi Jackson my brother! good to see you here! this is probably a good definition of preterism Preterism, a Christian eschatological view, interprets some (partial preterism) or all (full preterism) prophecies of the Bible as events which have already happened...

because zeal and submission are two different things. I believe the Bible teaches that Jews have a zeal for God, and that they worship God. clearly they don't worship God in spirit and in truth! that is your choice. the Bible teaches that Jews have a zeal for God. and the Bible teaches that...

    Catholicism vs Protestantism

that's a good idea! at the same time, I think it's good to remember that Jesus is talking about believing, and Paul is talking about being zealous. we agree there! I would say it's because zeal and belief are two different things. again, I believe you are confusing zeal with submission. I...

The absurdity and heresy of Preterism

I hear what you're saying, I see it differently. I believe it is well established in psychology that a person can write something and then believe that it did not come from them. and maybe it did, maybe it didn't. it's one theory of how Ouija boards work, for example. but this point, we've...

The absurdity and heresy of Preterism

I like the idea that The book of Revelation is about current events back then, but using a kind of code that we don't have access to today. a couple reasons for this: the genre of apocalyptic literature was common at the time. John could criticize Rome, but the book wouldn't be censored since...

that's right! Paul appointed Titus, Titus appointed others. was the system supposed to stop there? or was it to continue indefinitely? I don't know. but if it was to continue indefinitely, where is it?

The absurdity and heresy of Preterism

maybe this has been discussed already, but I think the phrase in the spirit occurs several places in the book of Revelation example Revelation 4:2 Immediately I was in the Spirit. Behold, there was a throne set in heaven, and one sitting on the throne it doesn't seem to me like it would be an...
