    Catholicism vs Protestantism

your post reminded me of Matthew 5:14 You are the light of the world. A city located on a hill can't be hidden. one question I like to ponder is during the middle ages, where was the city that can't be hidden?

    Catholicism vs Protestantism

it could be. I think it shows that Paul appointed Titus, who appointed other people. was that system supposed to continue indefinitely, as the current leaders died? or was it supposed to stop at some point?

    Catholicism vs Protestantism

I believe it starts with Romans 10:2 For I testify about them that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. do you agree that Jews have a zeal for God?

that sounds right Titus 1:5 I left you in Crete for this reason, that you would set in order the things that were lacking, and appoint elders in every city, as I directed you.

    The Bible doesn't mention Muslims.

In your view, is Jesus still sitting at the right hand of the the Lord?

The absurdity and heresy of Preterism

I disagree, I think we often hide things from ourselves. what do you mean by "idealisms"? is it the same as "ideals"? I agree that things are ingrained into us as children. but I also think the mind is highly malleable, and can be reprogrammed if a person honestly desires to do so. and yes...

The absurdity and heresy of Preterism

I've never heard of Amill. who is he/she? I wouldn't say I'm a follower of preterism. I think there are many varieties of it. some aspects of it make a lot of sense to me.

    Catholicism vs Protestantism

I just wanted to say for the record that I do not, at this moment, view CCC 841 as false. but I think it is important for Jackson and I to resolve the issue of the Jews worshipping God, and especially having a zeal for God, before we move on to Muslims.

    Catholicism vs Protestantism

do you mean because the Nicene Creed says "We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church." if so, then I would disagree. "catholic" above is understood by many Protestant denominations to mean "universal".

    Catholicism vs Protestantism

I certainly don't think so. I don't follow what you're saying here. I believe that Jews have a zeal for God, because that is stated in the Bible. I believe that Jews worship God, because that is what the Bible teaches. I think if you will accept what is stated in Romans 10:2, what CCC 841...

The absurdity and heresy of Preterism

that could be the holy Spirit, or it could be some part of your mind of which you are unaware. on one hand, I have no idea what you're saying. on the other hand, if I take a guess at what you mean, everyone's beliefs relate to their ideals, I think.

The absurdity and heresy of Preterism

I don't have a particular belief about when the book of Revelation was written. I'm not sure what you're referring to that might have been based on a hunch?

The absurdity and heresy of Preterism

that's a good point! as I read it, different passages in the Bible seem to describe Jesus returning in different ways. one thing that baffles me is that my Christian brothers and sisters who are expecting an Antichrist to come and take charge of a One World Government are often anxious about...

    Catholicism vs Protestantism

I think you switched from believe to believe in. exactly! the Bible teaches both of them, doesn't it? the Bible says Jews don't believe Moses. and the Bible says Jews have a zeal for God. it's like Nicodemus saying, "How can these things be?"

The absurdity and heresy of Preterism

that's an interesting point. Revelation opens with a promise Revelation 1:3 Blessed is the one who reads and those who hear the words of the prophecy, and keep the things that are written in it, for the time is at hand. in my experience, those of my Christian brothers and sisters who like to...

The absurdity and heresy of Preterism

well, I think because John is the human agent through whom the inspiration was given. when translating and then reading it, we use our human experience of language to attach meaning to the marks on the page.

The absurdity and heresy of Preterism

I don't know who wrote the Epistles of John. 1st John seems to be in the same style as the gospel. but this could just mean it was written by someone who was a close associate of the apostle, or had heard him preach a lot and picked up his style of talking. second and third John, there's no...

If Scripture says God is a God of Justice then why is there so much INjustice?

I think that's an excellent thought! are we willing to pray a blessing on our enemies?

If Scripture says God is a God of Justice then why is there so much INjustice?

saying that God deals with people differently at different times in history is not a pathetic excuse for God. the people that you talked about who wanted to sue for damages. were they motivated by lack of money to buy necessities like food and clothes? or were they motivated by a desire for...
