I am saying the thief was forgiven of his sins. No the thief did not go to heaven or to the restored heaven or earth. He went to Abraham’s bosom. The grave. We are all resurrected, living and dead, at one time. Not individually. But that’s beyond what I’m talking about right now. The thief...

The thief on the cross was not a Christian. He was a Jew forgiven of his sins while jesus was on earth just like Jesus did with the paralyzed man. Hebrews teaches the new covenant went into effect at the death and resurrection of Jesus. That’s why romans 6 says that baptism is being united...

Not at all. That’s a common argument but it’s not the scholarly interpretation. In acts 2, just like romans 6 and numerous other verses we see baptism related to when someone enters into a covenant with Christ. 1 Peter 3 really hammers it down by stating baptism is the plea we use. Eis means...

Acts 2 definitely lines out that baptism is required to receive the forgiveness of sins. Having to choose to believe is an action also. Jesus said, “ If you love me obey what I’ve taught”. We also see repeatedly throughout the Torah that the Jews were Gods people and that they believed in god...

That’s not what it says though. That’s something only forced into a text because of Calvinism.

You’re right. It was their works , fruit of the flesh , that showed they were not disciples even though they believed in him. it did not have too. They were doing miracles in the name of Jesus because they believed in Jesus. Otherwise they would not have done it in his name.

Yes actually it does mean they believed. They heard the gospel and was convicted of its truth. That exactly means they believed. Repent means to turn around in its truest sense. The nuance of it in scripturally mostly means to rejected wickedness and lies and pursue the opposite.

Faith is different from belief. Faith is belief and works. Believing the truth but not living it won’t save you any more than rejecting the truth but living righteously. You can believe the Bible, snd believe in the story, and yet still stand before Christ and he say go away I never knew you...

Peter preached the gospel to them. Many of the Jews believed the gospel and was cut to the heart. Yet they were not saved. They asked what shall we do after hearing and believing in Jesus. Peter said repent and be baptized for the forgiveness of sins and for the remission of sins. In greek the...

Also consider this. In acts 2 when the Jews at Pentecost heard peters sermon and believed it they asked what shall we do? Peter told them what to do in order to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit and forgiveness of sins. The Jews heard and were convicted, meaning they believed. Yet more was...

I don’t think they break it down like that do they? How much belief do you need until it’s enough belief? Any BCV for that?

We are saved by grace through faith. I guess one important step is to see scripturally how is faith defined? What are the examples? Is faith, that includes works, the same as work righteousness. Often a verse not held in context to the entire book, chapter, and bible can seemingly say something.

Is the teaching of Jesus before His crucifixion only for Jews?

Well lots of the stories and teachings in the gospels only has complete meaning for jews. Jesus was correcting something things and preparing the people for the new covenant. Like when he mentions don’t be angry before offering your sacrifice. That’s something Christians don’t do but we can...

    Horror lovers?

I’m a big reader. I read about 45-60 minutes a day and probably twice that one the weekends. That’s not including my time spent studying which may be 2 hours a day. I read fiction and nonfiction. Usually something scientific or faith based on the nonfiction and then I read a little bit of...
