The issue as I see is taking a few verses and conforming them into major doctrinal tenants. Nowhere in scripture are these even central themes. The apocrypha books where never considered to be inspired by ancient Jews so I didn’t see why now they should be part of the OT.

There is scams going in Protestant churches. Word of Faith and Prosperity Gospel. Andy Stanley to Rick Warren have some of the biggest congregations. I even attended one of the largest at one point.

Science has a broad spectrum depending what area is being researched or discussed. Obviously due to the complexity of the natural world, theories are either proven or disproven, but that doesn't change the uniformity of it or that it operates in orderly process.

I’m a Christian and a smoker. It’s not a good thing nor do I believe God condones it, but I don’t think it violates Gods law directly. Of course I could very well be wrong. I will leave it at that.

This is just my opinion, but people believe there is security in earthly possessions, careers, relationships, etc. This is true, but eventually they dissipate. See that heavenly things are eternal and not temporal. There’s much more to it course, but that’s what I think when I read those passages.

I say those are either false converts or flat out charlatans. Read the parable of the four soils. The promise isn’t taken away due to our own actions because we did nothing to gain it.
