    Who is Elihu?

I agree with you when you say God stated that Satan had God move against Job without cause. Satan’s cause was to destroy Job. Satan had said Job would not bless God if something bad happened to his possessions, and Satan was wrong. Job did bless God. This makes Satan’s cause unjust. This first...

Does the Last Day include the whole millennium?

I wouldn't see a need for a reference of every expression, "the last day". What does the last day mean? If you are referencing the whole Bible, then the last day would have to be after the millennium, or chapter 22, would it not? There are many ages portrayed in the Bible.

Does the Last Day include the whole millennium?

You have to consider the audience and the age. The last day for the age of Adam was the flood. The last day for the Jews and the law was somewhere around 70 AD.

    Who is Elihu?

CORRECTION FOR POST 266. IT SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN WORDS OF ELIHU, BUT RATHER ELIPHAZ Words of Eliphaz Job 4:8 Even as I have seen, they that plow iniquity, and sow wickedness, reap the same. (9) By the blast of God they perish, and by the breath of his nostrils are they consumed. Job 5:2 For...

    Who is Elihu?

Yes, that was probably due to my age.

    Who is Elihu?

Job says he knows as much as Elihu knows, and that is probably true, but Job's words were not cited ad scripture in the NT. Words of Elihu Job 4:8 Even as I have seen, they that plow iniquity, and sow wickedness, reap the same. (9) By the blast of God they perish, and by the breath of his...

    Who is Elihu?

If Job was an Edomite, he would have had the same understanding as Isaac and Abraham, which would agree with what you are saying.

    Who is Elihu?

If Job was an Edomite, he would not have reason to mention any written law. His law would have been oral.

    Who is Elihu?

What can I say, I was wrong.

    Who is Elihu?

Yes, but then I see the latter day as a different age.

    Who is Elihu?

Not sure how to answer that. Are you asking me if it already happened, or are you asking me if I believe it to be true? I was taking Jame's implication that Job was a prophet.

    Who is Elihu?

I believe I was in error when I said many. Had not thought it through. Job said, Job 19:23 Oh that my words were now written! oh that they were printed in a book! Job 19:24 That they were graven with an iron pen and lead in the rock for ever! Job 19:25 For I know that my redeemer liveth, and...

    Who is Elihu?

James speaks of Job as a brother and prophet. I do not believe that Job was a descendant of Jacob, but rather Esau, but we are not told. In regard to being a prophet, Job said many prophetical things, but so did Eliphaz. In regard to Job having patience, he certainly did. Job lost all his...

    Who is Elihu?

If you are angry with the three friends and believe the book leads you in that direction, consider Eliphaz. Eliphaz is the only one in the book of Job whose words have been quoted as scripture. Eliphaz said, Job 5:13 He taketh the wise in their own craftiness: and the counsel of the froward is...

    Who is Elihu?

Jhn5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. Isa 28:10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:

    Who is Elihu?

I believe the mark is often missed on this one. Job had requested that a man might plead with God for his neighbor. I believe Job stated this wishing his friends had pleaded to God for Job, rather than condemning him. Job 16:20-22 My friends scorn me: but mine eye poureth out tears unto God. O...

    Who is Elihu?

They say you can know a man's character by his friends. There is another saying, "Birds of a feather flock together." Why not compare scripture to see if you have it right? God said, Isa 45:9a Woe unto him that strives with his Maker! God said, Job 40:2 Shall he that contendeth with the...

    Who is Elihu?

The hate for the three friends, is it deserved? God's anger was turned on the three friends immediately after Job repented, when Job's eyes were opened. What is it that God is telling the three friends? Doesn't the answer lie in the fact that Job has repented but they have not? Their eyes have...

    Who is Elihu?

I am very negative on the NKJV. From what source did they get their translation. It definitely wasn't the same source as the translators of the KJB. No, I believe "wish" captures it best. Job twice desired to have a mediator that would not scare him to death. The NKJV would have you believe...

    Who is Elihu?

It is interesting to note that the phrase "God's stead" is used only twice, the other time was when Jacob's anger was kindled against Rachel because she was blaming Jacob for the fact that she was barren. Gen 30:2 And Jacob's anger was kindled against Rachel: and he said, Am I in God's stead...
