    Classical religious poems

These Inward Trials by: John Newton I asked the Lord, that I might grow In faith, and love, and every grace; Might more of His salvation know, And seek more earnestly His face. I hoped that in some favored hour At once He’d answer my request, And by His love’s constraining power Subdue...

    Some Thoughts from the Garden

Thank you. Your response is thoughtful and very well stated. I had read Genesis 3 many times but previously read it in the context of what I had been taught. The intent of the post is to encourage, and perhaps stimulate others to read in the context it is actually presented, even if we draw...

    Some Thoughts from the Garden

There are some really interesting things in the garden of Genesis 3. Reading these verses carefully reveal a very different picture from what most of us we have been taught. First, note the “serpent” is not identified among the wild animals. For some reason he is different from the animals...

    Prayer

Sometimes I get so busy in prayers I have to remind myself to shut up and just listen. God knows what we need before we ask. While He wants to hear, He wants even more to have our relationship. In my rush I forget to listen and to seek His comfort and rest. (And I surely need those)!

Slow to Anger and Great in Mercy.

I especially love this line: Don't you realize, oh man that God is allowing you to live in order to give a chance to seek Him. Great truth there! Nice work.

Stepping out in faith, knowing God told you to something. that was imposable to do on your own?

This happened to me about a year ago. God told me there was something wrong and would not let me walk away. Once I took a tiny small step, He led me to where I was supposed to be. It is difficult to explain the overpowering nature of this experience.

    First Earther Nonsense!

Bill Gates has already implemented his solution...and millions have already died. Him and AF are the most evil people who have ever lived.....but I am just being conspiratorial.

    Abstinence/Waiting/Lust/Sin

Fair enough, if your behavior fits this definition then it is indeed sin and you need to deal with it as such. YHWH in His infinite grace, provided a way to do so. He is waiting for you to bring this to Him and then trust. In the mean time, guilt has no place, even if you sometimes backslide...

    "Sinning Religion".

I can still find very little difference between my post and yours, only semantics.

    Abstinence/Waiting/Lust/Sin

I believe sin is clearly, either explicitly or implicitly, identified in scripture. Based on your post I am not fully convinced you are committing sin. Not everything that is bad for us is sin. There may well be negative consequences from you actions and avoiding the behavior may be best...

Can you be a little more specific? Please give us a verse or passage that identifies your action as sin.

    Corporate Worship

You are probably right. But suggesting solutions is an act of love, not complaint.

    Corporate Worship

My education and work experience is in Organizational Management. I have helped several organizations accomplish their goals. It’s not complicated but does take commitment. (It is amazing how this process mimics the teachings of Yeshua, but that’s for another post.) When helping churches...

    Corporate Worship

We recently attended a “Mega Church” service. We were greeted by very friendly and helpful people. We were offered a cup of custom brewed coffee and a selection of pastries, before being escorted to a seating area. The crowd was large, the auditorium even larger. The service began with several...

    Some thoughts on the Sabbath...

I did as you asked but am not sure what you are looking for. I know Church doctrine sometimes uses this passage to suggest the early followers of Christ gave up the Sabbath in favor of the Lords Day. I disagree. When you make your second paragraph assumption about breaking bread, that is where...
