I agree with the OP. Sometimes the opening line from the person messaging me is something I really dont wanna read...at all.

Far as I can remember we had this option earlier...there was this green little dot or something popping up on the name of the person messaging. I might could be disremembering now, but I think the receiver of the message had to allow the message in order to actually read it.

Ummmm, but you already can make that choice. If someone sends you a PM that you do not wish to respond to all you need to do is click the little red "X" in the upper right corner. There is no requirement that any user respond to a PM (other than from staff) that they do not wish to.
... but by then you probably already have read the PM. I know some ladies are plagued by unwanted messages they don't want to read in the first place, let alone respond to them.
Yes, exactly didymos--the pm box takes up alot of space on my computer screen. I dont know about the other ladies, but I'd love it if this got implemented and there was a little notification or something that pops up telling me who is trying to message me, and giving me the option to click "allow" or "deny." Sure I could click the ignore button, but thats only effective until the person pming me leaves the room and comes back in, which then voids the ignore button when they pm me again. I could also just click the red X button but that merely closes the pm, it does not block it. And when you get 4 or 5 pm's at once, it fills up the ENTIRE screen!!

I wish we could minimize our pm screens because sometimes I wanna pm and chat in the lounge...

I did? Yay!!! LOL. :) I think it would be great. A little box that pops up and says something like "didymos is sending a pm-accept or deny". That way WE can decide who to talk to in PM, and when. :)
A 'flirt' button would be a nice option also. Sort of like a 'like' button but a little more intense. :)

This is not a dating site...
(although there's a whole lot of flirting going on here).
