Hi,

I've noticed that one cannot hold down the mic (to play a worship song etc - eg being in Yousing rm) if one is using Chrome. Unfortunately Google Chrome is the only search engine I have and Internet explorer kept crashing on me.

Is there any way we could allow that function to work in Chrome as well?

I was not the only one who noticed the exclusion Chrome experienced.

Thanks,

1. Chrome is not a search engine; it is a web browser.

2. Have you tried the left click + right click trick? That's how others achieve a hands-free mic session. :D If that doesn't work, ghetto rig your mouse (e.g. set something on top of the left click button while the cursor is hovering over the mic button).

Maybe future improvements will include a more practical use of the mic for all browsers.

I have Chrome as well. I found out, that when you right click the mouse button at the same time as when the mic is on, you can let go.

Try Mozilla Firefox. It works for chatting here, for me it does anyway. My Chrome has problems chatting here too. I have both Chrome and Firefox installed on my computer. Chrome is a faster web browser, but only Firefox seems to work with the chat rooms here.

Mozilla Firefox Web Browser ? Free Download

While I prefer Firefox over Chrome as well, there is still no hands-free mic session button; inconvenient, albeit probably for good reason (I surmise some people would abuse this feature).

The left click, right click trick is quite literally a "trick" and not an integrated feature for practical/convenience purposes. ;) But, it works!

I don't know about other browsers, but with Firefox I just click on the mic and drag the cursor off the window , it holds the mic until you roll the cursor back onto the window.

Yes, exactly. I guess most people don't know that trick. For me, the problem is getting into the chat room at all with Chrome. It just crashes.

Chrome is heavily marketed and fast, but is not as widely supported as Firefox, just as Firefox is not as supported as IE.

Bless it! (as Grimgowers would say)

Asif had to correct me today. (*hangs head) Apparently when I did manage to keep the mic button down, it was not in Chrome. So, I have to take that back. Sorry.
