I just want to honour my brother in Christ: RoboOp

He spends a tremendous amount of time and energy working on this site. Each new development, each new idea's execution comes down to him...all while juggling family and other commitments. If it wasn't for Robo this site wouldn't exist.

So, THANK YOU Robo! The ministry, fellowship, friendship and love of Christ we share through Christian Chat is a blessing to me and I am sure others here also! God is using your skills/gifts mightily and may he bless you richly!! 1 Corinthians 15:58

Well Joy thank you. A lot of people help with different things. But as for development yah that falls on me right now. And just daily administration is time consuming. But the moderators help in that a lot too

But also I want to say that one of the best ways to show appreciation for the non-commercialized Christian site that you benefit so greatly from is to help fund the labors and expenses.

As for funding the labors, you can go to that "40 Seats Available" forum to support CC with $25 or more per month.

Another way, if you can't make a monthly committment, and/or you can't contribute that much, is to simply click on the Server Bill Fundraiser button (above the chat login form). There you can contribute any amount (even just a dollar or two!). This month in particular we have extra expense added on to it. The license for this forum software expires in about 10 days, and it's $100 to renew. And the server bill is $250 and it's due tomorrow. Currently (as of this moment) we've only raised $25.

So far the past few months the server bill has been fully paid by the users (you guys), so that is encouraging. Help us keep it up, and also consider supporting our labors as well. Notice that there are no ads on this site. I have been tempted to slap up Google ads here just to pay expenses but I have resisted that tempation. Anyway, just thought I would throw this in.

The best way to show appreciation for CC is to support it. Even with a dollar or two (or more if able).

Don't have a dollar or two? Take the Coca-Cola Challenge: cut out Coca-Cola (or your favorite health-destroying soda pop) just a few times a month, then you'll see a miracle: you will have saved a few dollars and will then be able to support your own usage of CC, instead of supporting the Coca-Cola corporation!

Sadly I am not working and am a full-time student on a meagre allowance...so money is really tight BUT, I will donate as much as I can afford to! Then in 2 1/2 years when I graduate I will hopefully be able to support the site regularly.....gosh....lol...seems so far away!
Anyway I just wanted to acknowledge all the work you do!!

It is a great challenge to make a Christian site like this to be both free and ad-free. (Think about it.) I've sometimes wondered if it's even possible (especially on a large scale, if it grows much more). But we are going this route -- and seeing if God will bless it -- being both free and ad-free.

Let's make it work

I have just donated all I can atm...it isnt much, but it is good to sow into a ministry that you have received from! So yeah, even if it is small amount like me...every little bit helps

Great thread! Yeah thanks for the site RoboOp!! And also i'd like to thank God for giving this to us too!

Anyway, I don't think it would be so bad to put a few ad's up here and there. A poll should be made about that IMO.

Just a lil encouragement for people to continue to sow into the the ministry of CC through financial gifts. I know that like me, a lot of you may not be able to afford much, but every little bit helps!! Even if it is only a few random bucks.........go without that coffee......or chocolate......or whatever. Anyway.....if you feel blessed by your time here, show appreciation, but also support the continuation of this fantastic site through donating your piggy bank money! LOL God bless everyone.

Can I issue a challenge to everyone?

If you have made friends with peeps on this site....if you enjoy chatting on CC....if you have been ministered to here.....prayed for....prayed with....if you have met friends from here in person....if you are blessed in any way by this place...can I possibly say.....SOW BACK to the community you are blessed by!!

It is always good to give tithes and offerings to the Lord! It is more blessed to give than receive. I know that Robo and his team would love to extend this site to incorporate more of your suggestions and make CC even better to chat in....so lets see a continuation of God's work here through our own giving!!!

You may say - but Joy, I cant afford it.......well, NEWSFLASH, neither can I, BUT giving is a sacrifice and if every member of CC even gave $2 a month or $5 a month or whatever, imagine how much of a difference it would make to this place! Now Im not trying to manipulate anyone here, BUT, we all have disposable income to some degree so how about committing yourself to giving even $1 per month via the donate tab!

Please give prayerful consideration to this...it is important...

I agree with most of what you said, and yes, we should definitely be giving back a lot to the community which houses us, BUT, some of us, really do not have a disposable income whatsoever. Each situation to their own I think. If people literally haven't got a penny, they haven't got a penny. But i'm sure most people who love this site, and do have a few £'s or $'s lying around in their bank account will donate.

I have to admit I never fully understood the importance or advantage of an ad-free site until I looked around at some of the other sites... and boy, I do appreciate it now!

My thanks to the mods and administrators who make CC such a fun place.

I just got my canceled check back today and am proud to support CC whenever I can.

Yeah, I get what your saying Pineapple and I completely agree with you. Not everyone has the budget to be able to give to the site and thats ok Im not trying to condemn or guilt trip anyone, please don't think I am. I myself haven't been able to give much, but I hope that one day when I am working I can support on a monthly basis! I guess I mentioned it just to bring it to people's attention so they can pray about any opportunity they may have to support Christian Chat in this way.
