A new believer E-mailed me today and said that she read my post in the new commers section and asked me which teachers she could trust.

There has been such a big development here Ugly and I have from my recent research found that I had in fact been taken in by a false teacher.
I had based my comments on the teachings of Paul Washer who teaches that most Chtistians are not saved as their post conversion works are oftern not consistent enough to prove that they have eteral life.
I found him on you tube and was taken in by him wholesale.Baptist Pastor Rips On Paul Washer and His False Gospel - YouTube.
This Paul Washer had thrown me into despair and I had been in turmoil since I had watched his videos.
I had even reccomended him to a new believer who had private messaged me to ask which teachers I would reccomend since I had posted i the newcommers section that Joel ousteen,Benny Hinn and the like were all fakes and taught a false doctrine.
After believing Paul Washer I had become judgmental and set myself up as watch dog .
I now feel that a great weight has been lifted.
If I had not joined this site I may have carried on with this and done a lot of damage to the body of Christ.

very very few that anyone knows are 'safe' teachers - in line with all of Scripture and teaching the True Gospel from Bible in union with God in Jesus..... just web/internet search their name with key words like false and similar to see if and test evidence "from their own teachings" i.e. that they say themselves, that judges them, as we will all be judged by our own words.
the most popular on media don't pass, even though they've fooled with devastating consequences billions of people on earth all around the world. (again, test as Scripture says; and see what "they say themselves" - the evidence of their own convicting themselves or not -not just what others say about them, but their own quotes and teachings; this works in line with all Jesus says).
sometimes, maybe frequently? , you can get a clue from the lives and actions and words of the followers of someone, if someone is teaching sound Scripture or not. very few do. and , worse for the reader/watcher/public> very few 'test' what is preached or taught or spread; so the errors continue compounding worse and worse and worse, on and on and on.....
stick with Scripture. the only reliable Standard. (and stay in prayer always, asking God's Wisdom for what HE means in Scripture - so many men have simply no clue and going astray themselves lead many others astray also.).
God plainly says NOT to study other (pagan/heathen) nations nor other religions. It is disobedient, proud, and dangerous to do so, and unnecessary (has no benefits; no , it does NOT help understand nor convert someone else). God forbids it. and God knows perfectly everything.
Yes. that makes for a narrow road. few are there who find it. pray that God sends laborers for the lost sheep..... the end is near... the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

no. i guess you didn't read the thread. the op sad he was thankful someone warned him about a dead end road before he went down it too far.

more than identified over 300 false teachers and prophets on tv and online, sometimes easily checked with what they themselves say or publish as teaching VS scripture.
there are over 3000 people who visit this site daily, perhaps 90% of them unaware of who is teaching the truth and who is not.
you must test each one for yourself, that you think might be okay. test objectively, or you have already failed.
(i.e. never think ahead of time , because of someones reputation
or even "spotless credentials"(Scripture says these are often fraudulent/deceivers)
that someone is okay, even to listen to! ) (GUARD YOUR OWN HEART according to the Bible, don't let falsehood enter, Yahweh be Pleased to Guard us all)....
stick with Scripture, and pray constantly that Yahweh, the Creator, the ONLY Creator,
by grace through faith in Jesus Christ,
will continue to reveal what is true and to completely watch over His Word, doing all that HE has Promised.

I would not point to Paul Washer,he is a 5 point Calvinist! He believes God chooses from the beginning, who goes to hell and to heaven,that man has no work or say whatsoever!( john 6:28-29) Why would God create someone,to purposely send them to hell?? What kind of love is that! So be watchful of him to!
