I wish there was an ignore feature for threads.
I might not even post on it, but when my friends do it pops in my feed, and say it's not useful for me, and some threads just go on and on and on.
It would we great if I could filter it out to not even appear in my feed.
Are you saying you get notified when a friend posts?

No I'm talking about the News feed, normally I'm interested to see what my friends are saying so I often click News feed but I don't want to see some threads.

I've never clicked that before. I just learned something new. With the many I follow, and their being so active it will come in handy 😂

Yep I like it because it's the fastest way to learn what's new on the forums xD
Kind of like "trending"! I rarely open a specific forum and look what threads are up.

just FYI =
hub and I have been in this arena for almost (4)yrs. - (just following orders) -
yes, we are very out spoken in our own individual ways at different times,
because we are two separate people,(yet-one-in-Jesus), replying to different posts,
sometimes together, and sometimes alone, but mostly 'together', but 'always in unity'...
for myself, 'wife', I am much more bold and can, as some one has said, be 'harsh',
but since we both know that our words come from the New Hearts that our Saviour
has blessed us with, then we never doubt or worry about the 'out-come' or response...

do we think/know that true Christians should never balance their opinions upon the world's,
or their 'old-own-ways', of course we do, but we also know that this takes a very great Faith, confidence,
and TIME as we continually grow throughout our daily journey moving towards Yeshua's Kingdom -
and so we see and understand where those who are only thinking that they are 'teachers and not listeners as well',
well, we understand this and we don't EVER TAKE OFFENCE...
our 'offence' only comes when The Holy Spirit shows us who is real in what they are speaking, and who is not'...

Great 'peace' have they that love Thy Law, and nothing shall offend them'...

by the way:
we were just recently 'banned for (6) days for what was called being 'rude', and no 'offence was taken'...

I dont use the newsfeeds I just go on to the forums I'm interested in, some forums I dont look in at all.
If someone I'm ignoring starts a thread, their thread wont show up for me. Which is good because I would probably not be interested in the topic anyway, and if I did add anything to the discussion probably it wouldnt be welcome as ignored members tend for me tend to be very argumentative not interested in what I had to say.

I dont responds to all threads, some I just read and dont post anything, or maybe a thumbs up. If I really dont agree with something but its just a difference of opinion that there is no point in arguing really I just mark with a red x.
I think the various options/emojis of responding are quite good on this forum.

I have been on different internet forums since internet began which I enjoy, some have been a blast and some have been terrible experiences, but I think with ignoring or filtering it just helps keeps channels clear for what you would really like to communicate, after all, forums are just a way of speaking up or out, and sometimes you cant do that when everyones speaking over the top of each other and it just gets really noisy.

Just looked at my ignore list.. I have 12 people on ignore.. I have not put anyone on ignore for quite some time.. I think when you are new to a forum then you will quickly find out the toxic people who resort to personal attacks and cannot keep their mind on the topic at hand.. So within the first few weeks you will probably place most of the people on your ignore list.. Every now and then a new member comes it with the same toxic ways abut them. But i have found a lot of them get banned before they waste my patience..

eek I have about 26 but Ive been on here for more than a year or so now and probably half of them dont post anymore or have been banned.
In contrast I only have one on 'follow' but Im not sure what happens when you follow someone on here.

personal attacks I just find rather rude seeing as when that happens its usually from people you didnt know existed and never said a word to you until they just come out of the blue. The only people who would have the 'right' as it were to personally attack me would be my own family who knew me from birth lol. But even then how much do your family even really know you nobody knows you better than God knows you, so anyone trying to BE God on the forum is being rather....deluded.

Totally agree with this. It appears to be quite arrogant to speak as though you "know" a person...but perhaps they are led to do so sometimes?

I'm not following anyone on this site but people have followed me. I think it's like a friend system but I think it's weird to not have an accept option. Other than a couple I haven't ever seen post, I like all those people and would be friends online so I don't mind.

But to follow someone still is something of a mystery to me what it does...there have been a couple times where I want to see what someone is up to and how they are doing and I can gauge this a bit from their posts so perhaps it's just a reminder? Idk.

husband and wife posting as one I think is kinda cute but how do we know when its the huband posting or the wife or is it you just refer to everything as 'we' instead of 'I' think this...

the only disconcerting thing Ive noticed when some husbands and wives post on the same forum, and this has happened on a forum (not CFS) is that the husband will post something meant for his wife to see and she will then answer and it makes everyone embarassed because then the thread just ends up them posting things to each other to the exclusion of everyone else.

I wonder if they are in the same room or just they have a REALLY big house that they need to communicate over a forum instead of just talking to each other face to face.

If you will carefully notice that she always (I am pretty sure.) indicates that it is her by making [some kind of] reference to her husband apart from herself (i.e. - "hub says" or "hub and I") or making reference to herself as "the wife" (absence of any such references indicates that it is him).

oh ok
well nobody really can tell if the husband doesnt say so. I dont really follow anyone so whoever posts in a thread I just read what is there and assume its one person.

although I have noticed that some people say 'we' and 'us' but arent referring to themselves but their entire country like they are the president of it or something. If that is the case their avatar should just the the name of their country or state.

I am thinking that I did not really word this well enough. What I meant by the above phrase in bold was something along the lines of "as being someone other than the one who wrote the post"...

I don't remember reading a post by the hubby part of the team but I could be wrong.

ok just wondering.
nah once fallen you are not being ignored by me.
I dont know how. any users are on here at any given time. But if there was like 100 people ignoring one person I suppose even then you wouldnt bat an eye.
The devil could be on this forum as a long term user (and why wouldn't he be attracted to a Christian forum? that's his playground after all) and we could all resist him.
I think that is the point of ignore. It's your/our solution. A personal ban tool. I have found it very useful and I no longer get provoked. I was about to quit the forums before I started using it. Now everything is peaceful and I don't feel like I am sinning anymore. The servant of the Lord must not strive.

I suppose if someone is being ignored by a hundred people they are probably going to notice no one ever replies to them and that they are talking to themselves. If they have a couple of argue buddies then maybe that is what they like to do. I don't really care because they no longer exist in my CC world.

In the real world, we have to learn to deal with difficult people without letting them steal our peace. If we are completely devoted to Christ in obedience and walking in love and resisting their efforts to push our buttons and get us to strive, then eventually the Lord will remove that difficult person from us to bless us. I have seen it happen more than once. It is sad that they have to be disciplined and experience the judgment of the Lord, but God will do it out of His love for that faithful servant that is being abused. He will not let that difficult person continuously provoke his holy sons and daughters. Here in CC we can just use ignore and move on.

Yea no more thorns in our sides!

People used to say you only tease someone if you really like them. But theres teasing and then theres tazing.

argue buddies lol
I've heard of 'frenemies' but not argue buddies, isnt that another name for lawyers?
