When he was either in bed or on the couch, (I know for sure that he said when he came back to his body it was on the couch) and according to him, his spirit/soul ejected out of his body down into Hell/Hades. I don't believe that in his story that he says he was near death, but healthy.

Apparently, that guy's life was hell. Maybe tomorrow will be a better day for him.
