My God is a good God and that's why I continue to serve him. I apologize to those of you who feel like my life is just an ongoing saga of misery. Imagine living it. But I refuse to be fake and pretend when all is perfect when it's not. I'm not complaining. I'm sorting through life one piece of broken glass at a time. Unfortunately, living in a glass house means there are lots of shards, and sometimes you have to stop and stitch up some cuts along the way.
I sang at the tea at my church this Saturday. It was fun and I got to sing a song I've wanted to sing for a while--"Carried to the Table" My counselor just happend to be there and asked me to sing at her conference in a couple of weeks. The speaker was heavy--a dear friend of mine who was married to an abusive husband for 41 years before they divorced. But when she became a Christian and was convinced she could change him, he shot her point blank through the heart. One thing she said stuck out to me though. She said it took her 5 years of counseling before she stopped longining for him.
This afternoon, after two weeks again of no contact, my husband finally emailed me. He makes promises left and right, but he has yet to follow through. For instance, it's been 6 weeks and he hasn't found a counselor for us. In 6 weeks it will be a year since he left. That's his deadline to show me he's working on his issues before I file. I do not need his abuse and manipultion anymore. A year is plenty of time for him to take one step towards health.
I am expecting a letter from my mom which I am not looking forward to. Having grown up being called just about every name you'd never imagine a mother to call her daughter, I'm done with her abuse and manipulation also. The letter could be nice, but I won't believe it. It could be cruel and it will be devastating.
Prayer requests:
1. Wisdom for what to do with my husband
2. Wisdom for how to handle my mother's letter
