In another thread here someone posted some "worship music" and the guy looked/sounded/dressed/acted like a member of the backstreet boys! Moaning to the microphone! That kind of singing style wouldnt fly in the 1800s, nobody would hear you. SING LOUD

I hope God raises up some real hairylegged redblooded men of God to the pulpits again and kicks these sissies out.

here is a fun exercise: Go and listen to some sermons from a while back, some hellfire and brimstone preaching. Then go and listen to the modern sissified TRASH they preach, its like NIGHT and DAY!

Differences:

Hell -> separation from God's love
Saved -> relationship with God
Christ is THE way -> Christ is a way
Non-Christians are lost -> we dont know for sure, maybe they got a relationship with God by worshiping a stone
Get saved -> "connect"
Fear the Lord! -> Jesus is my homeboy, I play basketball with Him
Dressing modestly -> dressing immodest, flashy, sodomite looking
Pulpit and pews -> stage, smoke machines, dimmed lights, bar stool
Singing hymns -> singing contemporary music or LISTENING to the 'worship team' sing it.
Be ye separate, dont conform to the world -> "engage" the culture, new christianity

Lol sissies! Man you feel really strongly bout these youngsters. I think you meant to say they have no spine. The word of God should be preached with authority. The type that makes you feel some conviction, makes you reevaluate your choices in life, some make you want to walk closer to God type preaching not some tickle your funnybone tickle your fancy type nonsense. Too much wanting to entertain the mans ego and selfish pleasures and ambitions rather than just glorifying God, preaching from the bible and teaching how we can serve God Not how God can serve our needs. They got it all wrong and I agree. Sissies lol

Perhaps not the best choice of words for the reflection intended..but, consideration of G-d's lead is included...certainly.
 
Just wondering what emergent type is, are you sure its just not a generation gap thing.

Of course nothing is ever as good as the 'good old days' but sometimes I think some people have nostalgia where its not warranted. And of the course the youngers are not going to undesrtand or get along with the elders all the time especially if they constantly vex them.

What we see in traditional/real Christian and a contemporary (secular) Christian's difference is not nostalgic related.

What we see is a methodical and deliberate action to re designate G-d's word and radically change the intent of His message.

Thus ...tickle my ears and tell me what I want to hear .....and....the end times will be a time of great deceptions......et al....prophecies are real and great care must be taken by the real Christian not to be contaminated.
 
Can you give a real life examples. I dont understand what is meant by the word 'emergent'.

Has it got...anything to do with 'the message bible' or chronicles of narnia (christianity as myth), or, gnostics who claim the resurrection is really some form of reincarnation.

Or is it like bread and wine is replaced by cake and coffee.

I agree with HER assessments, and SHE made some good points.

I DO wonder, however, if SHE is aware that there are more than a few in the Church who MIGHT take offense with HER teaching men and women?

Ok just read the article, ive only heard maybe two things like God is love, just love them and dont teach about sin...but this is to children in school where bible teachers arent allowed to evangelise. Not cos the children are sinning so much is their parents might get mad.
 
She's not really teaching shes just warning, it seems she's a christian recording artist who got sucked into some bad new age influenced churches and only now coming out of it.
 
Not sure about people having stuff against social justice though... our God is a just God and he loves mercy.
And He does teach about equality for rich and poor...so people that delberately ignore that need a wake up call. Especially when Jesus referenced it and James spoke about it.

It is simply old liberal theology dressed up in hip garb....but still questioning God's Word.

That's all fine and good but not at the expense of warning people about hell, sin and Judment. IOW, what good is it if a person goes to hell well fed, clothed and with a feeling of entitlement?

Thats why Jesus said a rich man can hardly enter heaven.

That wasn't what He meant. He meant with man (be he rich, poor, black, white etc.) It is IMPOSSIBLE to enter heaven...but with God all things are possible.
Let's read that whole passage and not just a snippet...

Matthew 19:21-26 (KJV) Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me. But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions. Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven. And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved? But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

Or do you want to go with the social Gospel, a Gospel of works?

Nope read the passage again Jesus said it TWICE rich man, not just man or poor man or black man or white man. RICH man.

Dont just highlight the passages you want to read.
