I'm not going back through. You made the moral equivalency between parents who send their kids to church with parents who allow their children to have their genitalia mutilated. You advocated for those parental rights on the basis of freedom.
If you are changing your position now that is awesome. But to act like you haven't done so is simply dishonest.

SINCE THE U.S. IS NOT, AND NEVER WAS, A "CHRISTIAN NATION" (The Constitution wouldn't allow it), then there's only POLITCS to deal with.

Bottom line - if you vote REPUBLICAN, you get Trump, and His ideas / agenda if he wins.

If you vote DEMOCRATIC, there, then is no defined candidate. There's only the SWAMP if it wins.

If you vote Third party, or write-in, your vote is of no significance whatsoever.

Personally I'll vote Republican (without any foolish belief that the SWAMP isn't involved to some degree in their Party agenda also). ANd in the next few years, I'll die physically, and no longer have any interest or concern about it.

Simple as hat.

I'm not defending anyone on this thread. I only asked because you are likely too young and sheltered to have experienced the corruption of the American legal / criminal justice system. I grew up with lawyers, judges and police. There are the decent moral ones that I have helped and given plenty of credit where it was due.
However, you never want to get involved with the system. I certainly hope that the Russian system is not as corrupt as the American. I suspect that it's corrupt wherever you go around the world. Jesus rebuked the lawyers and judges of His time on earth very harshly. He did so for similar reasons as today's corrupt "ministers of justice."

Parents and teachers would do their children a service by teaching them this truth. Otherwise, they are likely to waste much time and money suffering for little reason. If they go into that field, it might even be worse for them.

So let's talk about America being a Christian nation.
1. No one has made such a claim. Perhaps some misguided individuals.
2. The first "Europeans" who came to continental America were in fact solid Christians, The Pilgrims came because they wanted to separate from the Church of England (which persecuted Separatists). They did not mistreat the Natives, and the two worked together. Indeed the Natives helped them survive.
3. The came the Calvinistic Puritans, who were also staunch Christians but did not wat to separate from the Church of England.
4. Later others seeking freedom came and settled in the colonies. Some were righteous while others were not.
5. Still later the ownership of slaves in the southern states became common. But not all slaves were mistreated, since they provided a valuable service. No one question slavery, and it was really the West African chiefs who were responsible for the enslavement of their people.
6. Eventually patriots rejected the tyranny of the British crown in the colonies, there was the War of Independence, and the British had to leave. This gave rise to the Declaration of Independence, and the Constitution of the United States of America.

Now the fair question which must be asked by all is whether or not those two documents were based on biblical Christian principles? And it is quite evident that the Founding Fathers were committed to those principles. So what do we have?

Can any right-minded person deny that these rights and blessings are not found in Scripture? Liberty, justice, domestic tranquility, the general welfare, common defense, safety, happiness? The prayers of George Washington prove that he was a Christian, and were several others. Even the Deists among believed in God in their own way.

Then even later we have the Pledge of Allegiance which has "one nation under God":
"I PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA AND TO THE REPUBLIC FOR WHICH IT STANDS, ONE NATION UNDER GOD, INDIVISIBLE, WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL.


Now is there any other nation founded on such clear Christian principles? So while no one claims that the USA is a Christian theocracy, liberty and justice for all are exactly what God wants.

You love the country but want the person who has made this country objectively and measurably worse in almost every way to run it? It was the patron-state of the Soviet Union; which you referenced first.

I like to think we have never been as corrupt as the Soviet Union was; and I doubt we are anything like Russia is today; but some events that have transpired put that into question sometimes.

That's ok. It was your response to something I think CV said back on page 4. Your comment used his term "Soviet style" but I replaced it with the current Russian since the Soviet Union is something many aren't familiar with since the destruction of the Berlin wall and Gorbachev administration.

I'm glad you love America. I have no reason to doubt that. The thing that I see the need to correct younger Americans on who have not been victims of legal system corruption is the idealism that schools and media paint it with.

I was raised in public school and a parent who idealized certain positions as if those holding such positions were "America." She trusted the wrong people and paid for it with her precious life. I do not want others to repeat that through personal experience.

It's a common theme to portray in pop culture those public servants as leaders who represent America, when in fact they may be a demographic with the highest per capita percentage of sociopaths, wife and child abusers, and various other criminal activities. My reading of researchers on the subject, experiences of those who victimized family and unknown cumulative months of sleepless nights compels me to respond to the false generalization whenever I see it. If I didn't care, I would keep my mouth and typing hand still. However, there's far more corruption in the so called "justice system" than any of us are aware of. If it was a direct representation of America, we would all be in a most hideous place. With some exceptions, those are not the kind of people with whom we should wish to associate.
