A little survey about Israel vs Palestine

I'm curious to know how many on here support Israel, how many support Palestine and how many thing that both are in wrong and stand for neither one or another.

I like the original plan of the Palestinian Mandate that included a placid, parliamentary democracy with no overt cultural dominance of either party.

Since that plan has been ruined by radical Muslims and radical Zionists, I support Zionists in that their side of the wall is a more realistic formulation of the original dream. That's mostly a calculation based in realpolitik. I don't believe that history mandated an Israeli state like Menachem Begin. Theologically, I hold to the school of thought that the Church is now the chosen people of God, supplanting the Jews in that department.

The Bible doesn't teach the replacement theory. And the Arabs rejected any land they were offered.You dont get to turn around and complain now.The land was clearly designated for Israel,they fought and won,nothing more to be said.

I have no idea what "replacement theory" is. Chris and salvation history are the thread that weaves all of history together, including the Old and New Testament. Those that He sets apart as his hands and feet on Earth are His people and it is to them that his promises are made. The Bible makes it quite clear that there is neither Jew nor Greek (Colossians 3:11), that the Jews are, as individuals, people that must be evangelized.

Don't get me wrong, there is a certain blessing. Christ came to Earth and sits on His heavenly throne a Son of David. The New Testament was written by Jews, but the ultimate plan was to expand beyond that, to redeem mankind. The Jewish people as block are no longer involved in this redemptive process. Peter more or less told them so himself in Acts 4:12.

Woohoo! "Nothing more to be said." As if that ends a discussion.

So we cannot discuss the radical Israeli groups that hurt their own cause? Their very unwise approach to settlement? The bureaucratic fumbling that was not going to bring about the best solution in any case? If you are unwilling to judge all people by the same standard, you are going to have a very tough time defending your opinion.

The nation of Israel has warts like all nations. At least you are wise enough to support her, I suppose.

If you believe the church has replaced Israel in the Abrahamic Covenant, you are a replacement theologian, or subscribe to that theology. And as Kayla said, it isn't biblical.

I support the innocent people in both instances. I disagree with Israel's policy of food and water regulation in Palestine, their suppression of the human rights of innocent Palestinians, their disproportionately aggressive bombings of shelter zones and civilian areas, their illegal occupation of Palestinian land, their disregard for the Palestinian's self-determination, their infringment of peace agreements, thier practice of disallowing people freedom of movement, just like I disagree with Hamas' bombings of innocent people, their subjugation of women, their infringements of peace agreements, thier practice of disallowing people freedom of movement, their rules on stopping threatened areas to evacuate before Israeli bombs.

When all's said and done though, over 90% of the child casualties in the conflict are Palestinians that die at the hands of the Israelis -- Israelis who know full well Hamas' brutal policy of disallowing some citizens to flee in the event of airstikes. I think, as the richer, more powerful, safer, better provisioned country Israel should bear a disproportionate share of the responsibility for perpetuating the conflict; they have the upper hand, the support of the US, and they continually defy the UN's rulings because of it.

They cant occupy Palestinian land,Palestine is not a sovereign country and the land does not belong to them.History bears that out.You dont need the Bible to prove that.The Arabs were offered land,they refused it.They went to war,they lost.Still Israel has given back land for peace.They stand on 1% of the land in the middle east,just enough to try and defend themselves and still the world is not content! 1% !!! Why should they give back land they rightfully own? If so everyone in the world should give back land won in war.Wont that be a fun confusing mess!? There is no such nation as Palestine,no such people.It is a political make up.These people need to go back to their countries of heritage and live in peace and let Israel have their 1% of land.

Boy Im glad Im not a Jew,just cant do anything right.Cant believe a person would say that.
As far as the UN,which I have little use for,they were to carry on for the League of Nations and protect Israels right to their land as was agreed to.Not to bow and kiss behinds to look politically correct.If you look into the UN and how it was started its pure evil anyway.As a Christian I dont support them.
