With the new "law" passed legalizing "so called" homosexual marriage in the United States now dividing whole "churches" and denominations each with contrasting views, what is your view or more importantly what does scripture have to say regarding homosexuality.

Mine is, homosexuality is sin. There, I said it.
 
We really say very little when we just make a statement that "Homosexuality is sin."
A better question to address would be how you plan to personally deal with Homosexual individuals you meet in various life situations.

I'm glad you asked that!

It depends on the person. People are different. I have found I can't approach everyone the same way especially when it comes to this issue.

I have been apart of different people's lives, who struggled with homosexuality, two of which I will elaborate on.

One was an individual who dated my cousin who was gay and attracted to males yet he was trying to do his best to live a Godly lifestyle in pursuing heterosexual relationships. How did I "deal" with him? I didn't "deal" with him per say I more or less treated him like any other human being. Not passing final judgment since only God knows the condition of someones heart. And at the same time judging the sin.

He actually went a step further and married someone, a female, not my cousin, and had children. He now works as a professional helping others who have the same struggle. (Although I don't know how long that will last since homosexuality isn't considered a mental illness anymore and is approved or seen as a possibility for legitimate marriage between two "consenting" individuals of the same sex.)

What more can I do for him? He is a professing Christian who seems to have repented. So Pray. Encourage. Etc.

The other I met in a mental health institution and he was more or less was comfortable being gay. I did the same for him, treated him like anyone else, but at no time did condone his lifestyle. Again, I didn't know the condition of his heart so I could not pass final judgement. Really this was my first time being around someone who was openly homosexual. So I really had no idea what to do. I probably should have at least warned him.

(Others might have handled this situation differently than I have, everyone is different. I probably could have handled this situation better. But again it was my first experience.)

People do need to be warned if they engage in any sinful activity. I myself want to be warned or rebuked if I am in sin.

At the same time God is Judge and God will Judge the world, aren't we to Judge those inside the church?

There is another possibility. If I were to come across a "married" practicing homosexual couple I would probably not have them apart of my life in any way. Maybe you have a better way of dealing with that. I don't know since it has not happened to me (yet?). What would you do in this case? Warn them yes but what if they don't listen?

The most I think I can do in any situation is pray for the individual(s). God can do what I certainly can't.

So I could definitely use some advice as far as that is concerned...

As far as the brevity or lack of elaboration in the post, this was done on my part to leave the forum open to any direction it could be taken while maintaining the fact that homosexuality is a sin.

I didn't want to take the chance of having people who disagree with that fact coming in an debating with me or others when scripture makes that very clear.

Again, this is a great question and I am very open to what you think you would do in this situation. It would be very helpful for me to hear.

(For everyone else reading, realize, I am human and make mistakes, even when I write, please refrain from picking apart what I say in order to argue with me as though I know everything I am talking, because I don't.)

This kind of thread usally divides the forum between real Christians who believe and obey the bible and those who claim to be Christians but prove they are not by their actions and what they support.
 
Oh, make no mistake. It won't end up being just you and me. On this forum, you will hear a full range of solidly convinced replies... all the way from "let them live their own lives", to "burn a cross on their yard."

Well you can tell who is on Gods side ...because they believe Gods Word.
 
Homosexuality is a sin but if a gay person wanted to change because they wanted to follow God then what would most of us do?
I do not approve of the homosexuality relations but I also will not condemn them, I may give loving correction but there is a vast difference between the two. However the legalization of gay marriage is crossing the line, if I was a pastor and I had the choice of either marrying two gays or prison for life or even death I will choose prison or death.

Marriage is a sacred and holy thing between two people a male and female, in a sense it is to symbolize us and Jesus because in marriage the two people become one no longer two separate beings but one heart one mind and one spirit and this how it will be when we marry Jesus one day but satan wishes to corrupt this sacred and beautiful thing

Another word for the second kind is "lukewarm".
 
There is a greater corruption taking place in America. That is the hatred for Christians. This is something that I have noticed as I have been teaching others the dangers of the tenets of Islam. Constantly, others will take the focus off of Islam by stating how horrible they think Christians are for all of the things that they have done. I am PERPLEXED at the amount of hatred there is for Christians in this nation.

This is where we disagree. Hatred for Christians is not "new" its been around for over 2,000 years.

Hatred for Christians was revealed to us by Jesus himself so it should come as no surprise.

Scripture reveals this to us clearly:

---All nations will hate you because you are my followers. But everyone who endures to the will be saved.---
Matthew 10:22

As far as I know, there is no scripture stating that homosexuals will go as far as receive equal rights as heterosexuals to "legally marry" one another. Actually, I'm sure of it.

One thing scripture did reveal to us regarding homosexuality, and there are others, which is this:

---For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for which is unnatural, and in the same way also men abandoned the natural function of women and burned in the desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving the due penalty of their error.---Romans 1:26-27

The justification of said acts committed by homosexuals in passing law to affirm equal "marriage rights," should be a surprise since we were never told it would go that far.

As far as I know, we aren't even sure if Sodom and Gomorrah had this "law" supporting gay marriage. And see what happened to them!

How much worse off is America now that condones this behavior to the extent of making it "law".

This is why, in my opinion, This is the New American Corruption: The legalization of Homosexual Marriage.

Therefore Satanism is not a "new" corruption in any sense and Satanism has existed in the U.S. much longer than the legalization of homosexual "marriage."

Admittedly, my post had nothing [ directly ] to do with the title of the thread. Nor was it supposed to.

I did not say anything whatsoever to suggest that there was anything new about Satanism -- I said that it was more prevalent in society than people realized. It was based on something that Markum1972 said in his post. Please see the first two posts in this thread.

I believe that -- by having your mind fixated on the title - and intent - of your thread -- you have managed to misinterpret entirely the intent of my post. And, it was certainly not intended to "take anything away from your thread"...

I do understand what you are saying "without saying it" --- that this is your thread, and you want everyone to stay very close to the topic you intended it for.

I can respect that.

Nonetheless...

You are going to have a difficult time on this site if you do not learn to accept that people will occasionally "run rabbits" in threads - and comment on other people's comments. And, that - it is generally considered okay to do so ( a lot of good humor comes from this sometimes ) "as long as the rabbit does not run too far"...


When you have a conversation with others "in real life" -- is it absolutely necessary to the conversation that every single word that comes out of the mouth of any person during that conversation be absolutely and strictly "on topic"...??? Is there no good thing that can come from something said that is "partially on topic" - related to, but not specific to, the topic...???

'homosexuality' is not what this forum is for. It may be what this thread is for; however, it is most certainly not what this forum is for...

If you are going to be so entirely "strict and rigid" about everything --- then -- how about learning - and using - the terminology correctly! :p
