WRT demands for recounts:
In Florida, the recounts were warranted, because exit polls in some counties showed extremely different results than the counts. In other words, people were asked, "Who did you vote for?" and well over 50% -- in some counties as much as 60% -- said Gore, but in those counties, where despite the margin of error Gore still should have won, the counts had Bush winning. What that means is that a large number of people probably intended to vote for Gore, but, for whatever reason, the vote was not counted, counted wrong, or discarded / disqualified. Now, this could have been due to a completely innocent error, that just happened to favor Bush in the state where his brother was Governor. I will admit, it is POSSIBLE that it was not a case of voter fraud, that all evidence indicates that people who intended to vote for Gore had their votes disqualified due to "hanging chad" or other "innocent" problems. Not likely, but possible. Either way, the recounts were warranted.
The recounts are NOT warranted in this election. Every non-partisan poll indicated that Obama would win. Even if he hadn't won Ohio, he still would have won enough electoral votes to get the coveted majority. Even if Ohio -- the only state where it was at all close enough where a count might make a difference -- had gone to Romney, Obama would still be president.
So, if you crybabies want to sit down and count, recount, and recount the number of times people said, "Hell, no, we don't want Romney," feel free. It won't change a thing.
