It’s now 2:19pm here and I’ve been up since yesterday…at 9:30am.

No, I’m not on hard drugs. Just been working on an album and wanted to finish it, which I did.

I’m not even tired…ugh

Well, I guess since I’m up, I might as well work. Kinda burnt out though.

Put together a 35 track album about every major Jesus/God/Holy Spirit/Demonic Spirit moment in my life, from birth on January 1st, 1988, until March 7th, 2025.

Going to take two Hydroxyzine's and call it an afternoon.

Well, I got about 14 hours of sleep. Makes sense for staying up for basically two days straight.
Thank you @seoulsearch

Being indoors all day every day has got my circadian rhythm all out of wack.
I know the struggle well and I sympathize with you!! I've had insomnia for the better part of my life.

I don't know if this will help, but after a lot of trial and error, and with a doctor's help, I find what helps me now are:

1. Unisom SleepTabs 25 mg doxylamine succinate (blue tablets)

A doctor recommended this when I was originally taking RX antihistamines to sleep but was having to look at even stronger things. This new doctor suggested these to me and they were a game changer. She said she's seen several of her patients go off prescription sleep medications when switching to these, but it has to be the tablets.

I've never tried the other forms (geltabs, etc.) because she said in her experience, the other formulations did not work for her patients. If you do try these and they end up working, they're expensive in-store but you can find a much better deal for larger, 80 count bottle on Walmart's website.

However, these alone aren't enough. They just kind of prep my system for sleep and help me get back to sleep after waking up during the night.

When I actually want to sleep, I have to take:

2. Melatonin 3 mg BUT for me, they have to be the chewable kind. The take-with-water pill versions do NOT have any effect on me and I don't know why. But I take a chewable about an hour before I want to fall alsleep. It's not like clockwork for me -- sometimes it takes an hour, sometimes two -- but these two meds together are the only things that have at least somewhat worked.

It's not foolproof.

I just came off about a 4-night ordeal where I'd wake up after 3-4 hours and just stay up. I finally got some real sleep last night, so I know what a relief it is. But without these meds, I'd hardly ever sleep at all. And I've done all kinds of experiments trying only one or the other but that didn't work either. I'd prefer not to be on anything but sometimes we gotta do what we gotta do.

I know you probably have to be extra careful of what you add into your routine due to some of the other things you're taking, but I thought I'd at least mention it.

I'll be praying for you to find something that helps. And cheers to you for being so productive in the times that you do stay awake!

I’ve basically turned into a work-a-holic, since this year started. The end of last year, I was doing barely any work and I just didn’t want to continue in that direction. I think this past week, I worked like 8 or 9 days in a row, and these are like 8-14 hour days. I do give myself breaks and lunches but there is just so much to do.

When it comes to sleep; last night, I just finally took those Hydroxyzine tablets and knocked out in like 15 minutes. Was out for like 14 hours, after being awake for about 35 hours. The main thing that bothers me about these meds, are the dehydration aspects. They say, if you take them daily, you will only have those side effects for like a week and they will go away but some nights, I don’t even take the meds and I fall asleep without them, so it’s like I start that week over till side effects lessen.

I’m going to save that medication you mentioned, on my phone, just in case I need to talk to my nurse practitioner about it.

Thanks for sharing.

Yeah, I personally think most all drugs have some kind of side effects that are likely to wind up being permanent, even after you stop taking them.

I used to take Hydroxyzine, too.

It was great while it worked but for whatever reason, it just stopped working for me. My doctor put me on Ambien, where you have to show ID and prove who you are and that it's you when you pick it up. I'd never experienced this before, so I felt like I was wanted by the FBI or something, lol.

And I hated how it made me feel. I vaguely remember some Winnie the Pooh cartoon in which the narrator is reading the actual book, then turns the page -- and all the words start to slide off the page. That's exactly how my brain felt when the Ambien was kicking in, and I was like, "Yeah, ok, I am NOT going to take something that makes it feel like my brain is melting!"

But I still wasn't sleeping either. Funny thing, my regular doctor was out of the office and another doctor stepped in for my follow-up, and she's the one who gave me this literally life-changing information.

I'm sure it was God -- and I hope He leads you to something that works for you, too! :)

I don’t know how I’m just seeing this now but I feel like my brain is constantly melting but for some reason, I have so much energy, that I’m able to just work all day and apparently, almost two whole days straight…no, there isn’t any meth amphetamine in them.

When it comes to doctors and nurse practitioners; if they aren’t serving me to the best of their ability, to where I am feeling well and healthy, I usually move onto another one who will.

Most of the time, when a door closes, a better one opens. 9/10, it’s usually always better. This also, pertains to friends, relationships, jobs and even family.
