First, this is not a debate thread or thread about how you don't like me today or my comments. Second, I am assuming your comment about the 13 tribes is a joke. If this was the case, then it is sending false information and would technically be a lie (If you are not letting them know you are joking). Please do not do that. Lying is wrong; And Jesus would not want you to lie. Third, I am talking about Galatians chapter 4 and I already mentioned how Jesus is the fulfillment of the Promised Seed in previous comments already. Five, there are other points of discussion besides Jesus and the cross within the Bible. Jesus talks about many things besides Himself and the cross. Yes, everything points back to Him and the cross, but to ignore what the Bible itself says plainly is false hermeneutics.
If you disagree with how I comment on the text of the Bible, I am afraid I am going to have to ask you to stop being disruptive and keep your comments to yourself, my friend. This is not a debate thread. If you want to talk about how Jesus relates more with Hagar's Story, please go right ahead. But do not knock my comments on the Bible. Thank you. And God blless you.

Again, I have talked plenty about Jesus Christ at every possible opportunity I can find. If you were to go back and count how many times I talked about Jesus Christ and His redemption, I think you would judged me without taking all the facts into account. In fact, as the text progressed, I was planning on talking about Jesus some more.
Right now I am talking about Galatians 4 and how that relates to the Story of Hagar and Ishmael. If you don't care about those things within the Bible then please move on. If you don't care about Biblical evidences that back up the Scriptures, then please move on.
Note: Please do not respond to this post. If you diagree. Please start another thread so as to debate such said topic elsewhere, my friend.

Anyways, it is fascinating that Paul pointed out how Hagar was like Mt. Sinai (That represents bondage) and how Sarai was like Jerusalem (That represents freedom). One is faith in the Lord (Jesus Christ) and the other is trusting in their own carnal ways of what they believe to be good. A free woman and a woman who was a bondservant. Both blessed by God, but only one of them carried the Promised Seed (Jesus Christ). We can be justifed by faith in Jesus Christ right now and not by any carnal commandment if we simply trust and accept Jesus Christ as our personal Savior and repent of ouir sins.
We can trust that the Bible is true, for there are many evidences that back it up (Like the evidences of found at Jabal la Lawz in it being Mt. Sinai), which of course glorifies Jesus Christ. So it is my encouragment to anyone out there who has not accepted Christ, or who has backslidden into sin, I would like to welcome you to accept Him now. For He will give you a freedom and a peace like you have never know before.
In any event, may God fill you with all peace and love this fine day.

Need to rephrase the last sentence.
I believe Mt. Sinai (Which is south of Jerusalem) is the Mountain known today as Jabal la Lawz in Saudi Arabia.
Side Note:
Oh, and I look forward to mentioning the various evidences regarding Mt. Sinai's existence today (In Mose's Upcoming Story). Let these evidences give glory unto to Jesus Christ.

According to the text above, Abram was given Haran as a wife from Sarai.
This was not uncommon amongst the various men of God within the Old Testament to have multiple wives. However, does that mean God approves of polygamy? No. Jesus quotes Genesis chapter 2 on how marriage was always intended to be one man and one woman. So this obviously was a sin that Abram and Sarai would have confessed to the Lord at some point within their lives.
For the sin of polygamy involving Sarai and Abram had caught up with both Abram and Sarai. In Sarai's case: she was despised by her mistress in the fact that her mistress conceived while she (Sarai) did not conceive. In other words, if Sarai would have trusted in God, her handmaid Hagar would have not despised her in this way.
Was Sarai's lack of faith justification for Hagar to despise Sarai?
Is their a situation in your life where God has called you to take a step of faith, but you only met him half way on your own terms?
Are you despising someone today?
If these questions speak to your heart, do not delay in talking it over with the Lord (i.e. Jesus Christ).

While I currently believe Abram took Hagar as a wife (Which disagrees with the following article I am going to provide by way of a llink), I do think there are some great points brought up by this author on the topic of how God is against Polygamy in the Old Testament.

For Solomon had many wives and concubines. In other words, I currently believe having "multiple wives" were for having more children and having "concubines" were primarily just for the pleasure of being intimate with a woman.
In Ecclesiastes 12: Solomon says, "all is vanity." (Ecclesiastes 12:8). Meaning, his life of enjoying the pleasure of many women (Among many other things) were all hollow pursuits. Solomon concludes that we are to fear God and to keep His commands instead. For this the whole duty of man.
However, in Abram and Sarai's case: It was a momentary set-back in them having a lack of faith in God's Promise. The good news is that Abram and Sarai stuck in there, and they continued to trust in God's Promise by faith (When it mattered). A Promise that would turn out to be a person named Jesus Christ. A person who is 100% God and 100% man. A person who would be our Savior. A Savior of all of mankind who would be our true pursuit in this life whereby we would have a changed heart and life so as to properly respect and worship Him and to walk in the Lord's good ways. For the Lord is our pearl of great price. The Lord is the one who we will be married to one day. The Lord is our "first love." The Lord is our true pleasure in this life. Nothing else compares. For the external things of this life will one day pass away. So keep seeking and loving Him more and more, my friends. Never give up hope in surrendering more and more of your life to Him so as to glorify Him (i.e. Christ). Never give up hope in being all you can be for the Lord to it's ultimate fulfillment. For by our own effort this would be impossible. However, with God, all things are possible. So keeping raising the bar in trusting Jesus, my friends.

Hey Jason, Just wanted to say that I'm very much enjoying your study here. It's amazing to see how God's word comes together from beginning to end. I especially enjoyed the section where God told Abram about his decendants going into captivity, and as it goes on we see it followed through with Jacob's son Joseph beginning the fulfilment of what God told him would take place.
I wanted to share some verses that were given for instrcution of Kings in Israel, (In regards to King Solomon.) It sheds a lot of light some of these matters.
Deuteronomy 17:14 When thou art come unto the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, and shalt possess it, and shalt dwell therein, and shalt say, I will set a king over me, like as all the nations that are about me;
Deuteronomy 17:15 Thou shalt in any wise set him king over thee, whom the LORD thy God shall choose: one from among thy brethren shalt thou set king over thee: thou mayest not set a stranger over thee, which is not thy brother.
Deuteronomy 17:16 But he shall not multiply horses to himself, nor cause the people to return to Egypt, to the end that he should multiply horses: forasmuch as the LORD hath said unto you, Ye shall henceforth return no more that way.
Deuteronomy 17:17 Neither shall he multiply wives to himself, that his heart turn not away: neither shall he greatly multiply to himself silver and gold.
Deuteronomy 17:18 And it shall be, when he sitteth upon the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write him a copy of this law in a book out of that which is before the priests the Levites:
There's nothing like reading and studying all of these biblical accounts and piecing it together. God's word is amazing! I for one appreciate this thread very much.

I think the New Living Translation (NLT) clarifies what is happening here. For...
Genesis 16:5 NLT says,
Then Sarai said to Abram,
"This is all your fault! I put my servant into your arms, but now that she's pregnant she treats me with contempt. The LORD will show who's wrong--you or me!"
Oh, how it is hard for us to see our own faults sometimes. In fact, I would like to call this example here: "The name blame game." Who is at fault? "Maybe it's me, but it might be you, and not me."
At this point Sarai can't see it was her wrong idea that led to the problem in the first place. However, Abram was not without excuse, because he allowed it to happen. He played along with her bad idea. So they are both at fault.
We as couples (and even friends) can learn from this so much. Sometimes we think our partner or friend is all at fault. But have we stopped and looked in the mirror and see that we might be in fault in some way, too?
Granted, we are not perfect. But with God's grace, love, and help we can grow in the Lord so that we can be perfect in love (Loving God, our partners, and friends like they should be loved).

Abram did not want to quarrel over this. She was looking to blame someone for her feeling humilated in not bearing a child (Which was a huge disgrace for a woman back then). Abram redirected her anger towards her servant because it was her servant after all. Also, Hagar was technically to blame for making her feel that way (Even though Abram and Sarai placed her into that position).
"Sarai dealt hardly with her."
Two wrongs don't make a right. In this case it would four wrongs.
Wrong #1. Sarai coming up with the idea for Abram to have a child by her handmaid.
Wrong #2. Abram agreeing to her sinful idea.
Wrong #3. Hagar despising Sarai for not conceiving
(When she was feeling prideful or proud of her conception).
Wrong #4. Sarai deals hardly with her handmaid (When she and Abram put her into that position).
"she fled from her face."
Hagar fled from the face of Sarai. Sarai' face no doubt had shown that she was upset with her maidservant. Hagar was fleeing from this. The English word "face" is taken from the hebrew word "paniym", which is also defined as presence.

Please note: I do not believe Jesus is a created angel. I believe Jesus is God Almighty who is Eternal and uncreated who took on the flesh of man (thru a virgin named Mary). I believe the word "angel" is simply in reference to a "messenger." In other words, according to our Modern Lingo, this passage would say "Messenger of the Lord", instead (See the link above to learn more).
Anyways, Hagar is found by the "Messenger of the Lord" (A pre-incarnate appearance of Christ) at a fountain of water. Hagar who is Egyptian gives birth to a half Hebrew half Egptian child because the child's father (Abram) is Hebrew. In the New Testament, Jesus had encountered a woman by a well. She was a Samaritan woman. Samaritans were half Jewish and half Gentile. Christ in both encounters (Both Old and New) had given a prophecy to each of these women.

Jesus says salvation is of the Jews. Meaning she was not a full Jew.

"By the fountain in the way to Shur."
The word "Shur" means a wall or an enclosure. The Israelites came to "Shur" after being led safetly accross the Red Sea. After celebrating and traveling, they received Manna (From Heaven) and Quail; And then later they received water from a rock (When Moses had struck it). Meaning, that when Christ (Who is the Rock) was struck (When He died on the cross), living water (the spiritual water of eternal life) was made available to us freely. For Jesus is our fountain of life. Jesus is our Shur (i.e. sure, or rock solid) way by faith.
