When you read the word of GOD, it says that if a brother ever taken with fault, we who are spiritual should restore such one in the spirit of meekness, considering ourselves lest we also be tempted
and it continues to say that we should bear one anothers burden so as to fulfill the law of Christ
Galatians 6:1-2
Conjoined with scriptures from Ephesians chapters 4:30 onwards, the word of GOD counsels us to be tenderhearted, forgiving one another just as Christ for Gods sake forgave us.
And again in Matthew chapter 18 it mentions stages on which if a brother offends us, or we see is in error we should take in order to restore such a person in the right path
from the first verse, this is what i understand
1) We must handle things Spiritually, in the most babe terms, we should listen to the inward witness of the Holy Spirit on how to answer a certain brother who we think is in error, or has posted something that is not in line with the Word of GOD. The word of GOD says in 1 cor chapter 2 that have the mind of Christ and again in Timothy tells us to study to show ourselves approved of all which are governed by the Holy Spirit of GOD.
These verses points out to us that must be thinking the way Jesus does, in situations of disagreements, confrontations, or arguments.
Would He focus on wanting to be right more than saving the soul that is in error?
Would He be rude, un polite, inconsiderate?
Would He discern the readiness of the heart that HE is trying to correct and know which approach to take? or would he just bash out the truth on his or her face?
Would He concern Himself more with HIS own state of not being owed the blood of the Person?or would HE love the other just as HE loves Himself?
We understand that JESUS took so much care and love towards us that HE risked it all in Heaven and came FOR US. Not that HE may be glorified, or that He my sit at the right hand of the Father, but that we may all Saved. He did it selflessly.
2) We understand that the bible says we should consider ourselves, it is saying that whatever made our brother to fall could also make us to fall. So before we venture into correcting someone, we could ask GOD if we are fully equipped for the matter? or if GOD wants us to speak into the matter!!
3) We should bear each others burden, when a brethren confesses His/her fault to you and GOD indeed has given you the go ahead to speak something into the matter. Do you end there? or should pray through the problem until we make sure the brethren is in better shape? Some people GOD leads us to pray for, and those HE leads us to pray for, He can put a timescale on the matter. So at times we think that we should pray for the person for 5 minutes and its ok, but its not. God would be prompting us to pray for that person everyday, loving them as you love yourself. ie If you love you, you pray for you everyday, if you love you, when you are going through a tough time, you would cry and sob before GOD to save you from the calamity. And GOD in such situations would be reminding you that, DO THE SAME.
Think on the mercies and compassions of GOD that are new everyday towards us. He never sleeps He never slumbers, He never quits correcting us even if we do the same mistake. He wants to be there for us and is always there for us.
So much more should we not be for the brethren? When GOD gave us specific commandment to Love another.
SELAH!!
Be blessed,
