Since SAD have no assurance of salvation, it is no wonder that they harp on about the Law.

I think I was reading, the reason why SDA or Ellen White doesn't want their believers to have assurance of salvation, because White didn't want people to believe in once saved, always saved.

SDA are big on the law, because it's in the Bible. lol That would be my guess anyways, not really an authority, but appreciate the SDA church and it's teaching in the most part.

Personally, I'm leaning more and more on predestination, but that is for the other threads. I could never just strictly just believe in one denomination or one section of the faith's teachings, I personally see to many possibilities, or see truth in some parts, and concerns in other areas. I definitely like to hear people out, because that's how you learn I guess. Exceptions of course.

People who are against the SDA church, should probably look at their own church doctrine, that would be my recommendation. SDA church ain't perfect, but that have a lot of things going right in their favor, in my honest opinion. Just the fact they are leaders in world wide evangelism, should be enough to scare most Christians from critisizing the faith. Well, what has your church done? lol

Those anti-SDA Christians need to kick it on over drive, your failing in your mission. lol The SDA church is growing.

SDA

"The Seventh-day Adventist Church (SDA) has been recognized as one of the fastest-growing churches in the world. In 2023, the church reported a world membership of 22,785,195, with a net gain of 550,789 members. "

December 3, 2024 | Silver Spring, Maryland, United States | Adventist Mission

"The time it takes for a new Seventh-day Adventist Church to be established dropped below the three-hour mark. According to the General Conference Office of Archives, Statistics, and Research, a new Adventist church was added every 2.97 hours in 2023.

At that rate, a new church is being established approximately every three hours—or eight new churches every day. The last similar milestone was 23 years ago. In 2000 a new Adventist church was added every four hours—six churches a day."

Whaaaa? LOL! Sorry but that one in particular I find really off the wall. Is there anything in the SDA doctrine that is biblical? Probably, but where or where? Apparently sex was off limits as well and women should refrain from normal marriage..she was really big on that. That's not biblical either. sigh
Ellen was real big on masturbation and saying it was the same as literal suicide. That was one of the issues that had her push vegetarianism so much because she believes eating meat increased sexual urges. Honestly the sickest thing I’ve ever heard come out of the SDA church was Dr Kellogg the cereal guy. Read post #222. I found out about him a few years back. And the fact that Ellen, not only backed him for years while he was doing these things, she also said he was appointed by God which tells me all I need to know about her.

"Today, as one of the fastest growing Christian Protestant churches, the Seventh-day Adventist® Church’s worldwide membership has grown to more than 20 million in more than 200 countries. The Adventist Church operates the second largest parochial education system in the world, and operates the second largest religion-based health care network in the U.S."

Funny how sex seems to always play a part in cults whether it is anything goes or don't you dare. I did skim over 222 but just read it in detail. The cereral guy? 🤯 The actual cereal guy? More like he was appointed by :devilish: I'm going to look up the info not fit for posting here.

And in the meantime we have God showing Peter, in a vision, that even previously forbidden creatures were ok to eat (of course that had a spiritual significance) but Ellen had The calling of being the voice of God in the earth. The sheer audacity of it should give a person pause but hey...if you are going to believe might as well go all in. This woman was off her rocker and her followers disturbed themselves and deceived.

Of course meat is the best source of protein with beef I think the best of all? So you had all these people trying to subsist on corn like cattle but they could not eat the cattle. (sorry bad joke) Kelloggs should put that story on the back of their boxes. 'Oh and by the way, the inventor of this brand says its best to abstain from animal protein.'

ewwwww.....sounds like maybe mr cereal liked little girls. I mean really liked them. wonder why he didn't put acid on little boys too....

At Amazon that darling book 'Plain facts for Old and Young' is described as:

Plain Facts For Old and Young, Natural History and Hygiene of Organic Life

+ + + it is also a scientific jounal. well I mean if Ellen White can see aliens, tall and beautiful and without sin, on another planet, why not.

They need to do a mini series on White's life.

Some might just class this as being part of an end-times delusion taking place.

Do these stats really mean anything?

Even the stats about hospitals and schools are dwarfed when viewed with secular inclusion.

I also saw some stats on White's written content. She's apparently far outdone by Hubbard re: Scientology. Also, certain authors are said to have written millions of words about the Koran.

I think the NC Greek is estimated to be about 138k words.

Quality over quantity...

Actually I am the op. So yes, I did create the thread for a reason and not to talk about personal issues. The Sabbath worship dictates of SDA do not line up with New Testament teachings and SDA doctrine does not line up with the gospel. There is a reason that Christianity calls SDA cult, just like Mormons, JW's and others.

I am not responsible for reactions.
I do stand corrected. You, as you have rightly stated, is the OP. Sorry for the harsh words. My bad per usual.

Did you read the meat & masturbation connection?

You've got quite the thread going on here!

Would like to see some replies from the SDA coverts about that connection. Wait....didn't someone in the commandment thread mention being vegetarian? Not sure........

Can you believe you can still buy that book...Amazon but a few other places too I think. The cattle ranchers gonna get up in arms

Matthew 7: 15-23
Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Matthew 24:3-5
“And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.”

2 Corinthians 11:3
But I am afraid that as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, your thoughts will be led astray from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ.

1 John 4:1
Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.

Hey really no problem. I really am just trying to educate people about Ellen White. I doubt most people practice these beliefs with the vigor of some here. There are extremes in plenty of 'mainstream' Protestant churches some of which I have personally encountered but let's at least stick with the Biblical version of the gospel and not filter it through 2000 + visions etc and then hang off every word of that person.

Appreciate you coming back and posting. :giggle:

Considering the effects of those visions and the anti-gospel contents, I do not think they were from God. At any rate, this thread has deteriorated as do all threads in this forum. At this point, I feel comfortable in saying that it does not matter what is posted in this or any other thread, people are rarely if ever, convinced of anything but what they already believe. It's more or less just a place to come and yak and waste time.

However, being told you are hellbound because you go to church on Sunday should make anyone consider what is really going on with the SDA cult.
I have not found a denomination that is actually biblical, they all hold to some of the Apostles doctrine but never all of it . Most are not aware of this because they don’t actually read the Bible for them selves . I do that’s how I know . Also when people are indoctrinated it’s like talking to a blind man . Only the truth that is applied by the Holy Spirit can open their eyes or make them consider maybe they are wrong and need to look into . I went to a college and saw first hand how indoctrination works . The student knows very little of the Bible , then in class is explained the college’s interpretation, then they must pass exams and that forces them to except the doctrine or drop out of the school. I agreed with a lot of the teachings but a few I couldn’t except so I left the School, today much more I don’t except because I know the Bible better . The only way to read the scriptures are doing it yourself unless you know a true experienced teacher of scripture by practice as well . I never met such a person but read for myself and I’m thankful! God has not left me empty in my pursuit of truth . Websites usally will make some people confused. But it only shows me how important the study of the Bible is really a personal thing these days . The church today is far from The 1st century. Just read 1 Corinthians start to finish , I have never seen anything like it or found a church that would even consider some of Apostle Paul’s teachings He was ordained by God ! But don’t ever be discouraged God is faithful unto all generations! Amen

I understand what you are saying here. I have had to go in search of answers as the church I grew up in was very basic but they were steady in that, so it was a good foundation but only that. When I think about how far I have come, it's like almost another religion. I don't mean one I made up, but closer to the biblical version but you cannot really effect that on your own.

I was taught by my dad how to think for myself so that has actually really helped along the way. Sometimes, and this might sound funny, but maybe a person here or there might understand, I almost wish I did not know all I do know which I personally experienced, but then I would probably be more susceptible to deception.

I tend to think of Christianity these days as kind of like a minefield. Watch where you step and don't necessairly believe it when someone tries to assure you it's all good. Maybe I sound a bit pessimistic, but I am really someone who sees each day as a new day and I don't know how else to live. I do absolutely believe that Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life.

SDA does not teach salvation through the grace of God. That is not true in the least. If you don't believe that, check out the posts of sabbath b in the 10 commandments thread...for that matter, how about the title of that thread?
Hopefully you I U will understand how these two things can co-exist..

One day you may realize that obeying the 10 commandments does not mean you do not believe in the gift of justification by faith.

Rom 3:31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.

Rev 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

Gal 5:6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.

but faith which worketh by love.
