Many thanks for your apology 1ofthem, although my thought about the thread, the one I started, being derailed was more due to Lynx choosing to be combative and trying to "put me in my place". I might be a n00b here, but I've earned my stripes over the decades and don't appreciate brothers and sisters in Christ acting like those of the world. Ideally, the conversation you "brought" here would've been better elsewhere, but on the plus side it let me see a few poster's "true colours". I genuinely appreciate your humility in this matter 1ofthem - not enough of that happening on this thread. Including for me, actually. I guess I'm tired of being disrespected in life and talked down to, and I was SO hopeful this would be a safe, mature place to really have some good discussions with meaning, respect, humility and all that. Sigh. I guess Satan always knows where to needle us, huh?@Cephas_rock I am sorry for derailing your thread. I am going to try to read it later and maybe make some legitimate posts.

Really though, I shouldn't have brought this on this thread. It started in another thread about a father losing his son and asking for prayer. She called the father who had just lost his son out for making a typo. She said he made a typo, but there is not even a typo there...so IDK...but it was really nasty.
She was on there talking about discernment, and then I saw her on here talking about people not having discernment and being rude to the OP and others here too. So that's where it all came from.
Once again, sorry to all you guys and for derailing the thread. That was wrong of me. Big apology to @Cephas_rock.

something A LOT of people here claim to have, but obviously don't. You want to hide behind "typos" from someone who is known to say things to get people worked up who then goes and uses a very old, sick joke just to see what type of sympathy and reactions they can get from it. I am willing to bet that he is sitting back, reading the replies and laughing at all of you.

Ironically when @17Bees drew attention to "seasoned singles" with vomiting I imagined some ghastly blend of spices. reminds me of one time I had a revolting amount of garlic on toast that still to this day I recall as quite possibly the worst toast I have ever had.
To be fair though. Perhaps one day this "ghastly blend" will mix with another's "seasoning" and produce the proper mixture and be palatable. One can hope

Hmm. If you've got better and important things to do, might those be the things that God is calling you to do rather than tear down those who disagree with you? And honestly, anyone who spends as much time talking himself up as you have does seem like someone who is in it for the glory, fame, and acclaim. Can't really remember Jesus doing much of that so I guess that's not very Christlike behavior either.
We can definitely enjoy useful, helpful, mature, adult conversations around here and we can also enjoy fun and light and inconsequential conversations. How long did you actually hang around here and scope things out before you joined so we could have the incomparable benefit of your wisdom and advice? Because it really shouldn't take that much logic or observation before you see that 1) people who want advice about something can just start a thread and ask for it (and there are plenty of us who will respond, some even with useful responses) and 2) that people who aren't inclined to ask a bunch of strangers online for advice also aren't inclined to ask one stranger who talks up all of his (unverifiable) "experience". Hopefully you have learned quite a bit in 50+ years of life; maybe you're even a much better guy in person and worthy of the trust people who take your advice place in you; but all we know about you is you've swooped in here and so far the advice you've demonstrated is throw a hissy fit if anyone dares question or just not believe how amazing and qualified you are.
But fear not, I have taken your example to heart; so I will never make a thread telling everyone how wonderful and wise and godly I have finally become and expect them to seek my advice like it were the very word of God for them. And I'll also have another case study in spiritual pride to reference if I ever need to discern if someone (including myself) is exhibiting small levels of it.

I work in libraries and have always known mills and boon romances were filed in the fiction section. some public libraries frown on them and dont even stock them, but in my area, they went out like hotcakes.
At the bookshop where im working at now, we dont stock them (another bookshop has them) and nobodys asked for them, but we do have a health and wellbeing section with a few relationship books. actually not many, I had to order five love langauages in but even that one doesnt seem to sell.
Most of what is in stock currently being published are books about looking after yourself, even books on not giving a f--- (excuse the language) actually nobodys bought one but I presume those kinds of books are for the newly divorced.

most people tend to buy fiction like crime novels, or they might buy the Bible, or a book on philosophy but very few will buy a book of advice on relationships.
