The thing is that it will take a certain measure of lusting as you put it or desire as I put it before a woman can actually become your wife. I certainly do believe that there is no sin in desiring to be an intimate with the one that you love if you are considering this woman to become your wife and with the understanding that if this happens you will be loving and faithful until death do you part. Even Paul wrote that it is better to be married than to burn with the passion. Perhaps he was referring to lust. I don't really consider him to be an authority on matters of the heart but he had the right idea and understood the basic concepts of love and marriage. These two go together like a 'horse and carriage' but then again, I could be wrong because I am not musically inclined but rather romantically inclined.

I simply read what Jesus said in His sermon on the mount and believe it as it is written.. I do not try to resist it or try to find loopholes.. I acknowledge that i have sinned every time i had lust for a woman who was/ is not my wife and thank God for the gift of the Atonement of the LORD Jesus Christ which pays the penalty that was upon me due to all the times i have lusted..

See that way i have not tried to make excuses or tried to justify my transgressions because i want to feel like a good person.. Zero resistance to the Word of God means i knowledge that all my transgressions against Gods will are transgressions that i am in need of His Atonement for.. That way i am covered and i can be confident that i am saved..

But i fear for people who do their best to justify or dodge or seek to find some form of loophole around the revelations of God.. As the Borg would say.. Resistance is futile.. When it comes to God and His revealed will,, resistance is indeed futile..

There is nothing wrong with a man desiring to have sexual relations with the woman of his heart's desire. Without this desire there is no basis for a marriage to take place in the first place. That is just the way these types of relationships take place. It was God who designed sex and intimacy in the first place. Outside of marriage there is only lust and sex, once becoming married the dynamic changes, for better or worse, richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do you part. Resistance may indeed be futile, but lack of practicable understanding can only lead to frustration. Yeah, I wouldn't want to be assimilated by the Borg either, confined to a joyless existence. May the force by with you.

I didn't know that Tommy. I thought he just drew lots to see who people end up with. I guess that I was fortunate to get the long straw instead of the short straw. Maybe he tosses dice, who knows, but there is a precedent for that in the bible.

Imo, I don’t think so as I would then label that as “love” towards your spouse.

But idk - maybe the married peeps in here can answer that.

I think MORE people should lusr over thier spouses..maybe theyd be less divorces that way...:/

To always desire love and lust after a spouse is awesome..just because you "have them" doesnt mean all that should stop..in MY mind..thats when it should intensify:)

Ok. I think my understanding of lust is different.

I don’t know if I can lust over someone I already love.

But then again, I haven’t been married so I wouldn’t know. 😂
