some may not think about the future very often but i find myself always thinking. my mom tells me to stop or i'm going to die of a hard attack.lol i am facing a transition in my life. hard desicions have to be made. last forums i had were focused on finding that something of meaning in life and are they all the same, meaning are all guys the same. thanks for your replies. I came to the conclusion that not all are, since a lot of guys came in the defense of their race, lol it was nice to hear some good arguments i was starting to lose hope.lol i'm in my 20's never really have had a regret even bad experiences have taught me something. im moving to west africa in september to work with peace corps but i'm afraid of being so far from home. is their any people that have fears for the next big season of life? any advice?

I have been through some rough times the last few years. After college I couldn't find work anywhere near me for about 6 years, so I made a leap of faith if you will and went to a job about 3 hours away. I had to leave my family and friends, but my mom and I actually get along better now than we did before I left.

The last 10 months have been especially rough as we had a period where we were lucky to have 30 hours of work in a two week period. Add to that a financial mess of my own making. I stuck with it and trusted that God would get me through. He has and things have now picked up alot.

Unfortunately I doubt this job will take me anywhere, so I'm looking into additional schooling with a government accredited correspondance course. Hopefully that will lead me somewhere.

I realize that this doesn't really align with your decisions, so I'll try and give something for what its worth. If you believe you are being led by God, then it will be rough but he will see you through. If it is a personal choice, than it will still be rough, but he will see you through.

In the end all of our decisions in life ultimately come down to, close your eyes and step off the edge of one choice or another. Either way, God will be with you.

Im changing careers to something completely unrelated to my former work as a graphic artist. I'm going into the medical field where its critical that I don't mess up or someone could get hurt or worse. I prepare intravenous medications for patients in a hospital so there is no room for error. Trust in the Lord and pray everyday for help and protection. That is what I do and He has not let me down.

I worried all throughout my year and a half of schooling that I wasnt going to be good enough to get through it but with the Lord's help I made it on the dean's list even though I was going through an extrememly difficult time with my dad going through cancer treatment and recovery. It was the hardest year of my life and somehow I kept my faith through it although there were days when I nearly lost it.

I'm quite convinced that we are about 3 years away from living in a world-wide police state. That scares the daylights out of me.

See, now when I say things like that, I am immediately berated and mocked. Is that your experience as well, or do you deliver it with such gusto and conviction that you leave no room for question...no pun intended.

I wouldn't say that I have a fear of the future. I have a nervous excitement at times, sometimes I feel slightly anxious, but then I remember everything God has already done for me, and done in my life, and it stops fear in its tracks before it really gains a foothold. I used to be afraid of the future, and negative about the present. I am a reformed complainer, lol. :)

I, too, believe we will be living under a world government/police state soon. The Bible tells us it will happen; it just doesn't give us a date. However, current events tell us that it won't be much longer. I would be in a constant state of fear and panic if it weren't for the fact that I trust God completely with the future. He has His plan, He tells us how it will turn out. We just have to endure until He puts things right. Not exactly an encouraging thought, but I try to remember Philippians 4:13.

I just lost my job and it's very difficult to find another one right now, so I understand having fear. I'm single, so it's not like I can rely on someone else's income for awhile--I have to support myself. I know that God provides our needs, but I do get afraid sometimes that I won't find something else in time.

Sorry to hear that Sweetnshy!

Faith in God's promises is not something we can obtain by our own efforts. It's a free gift from God to those who have no faith in themselves, but simply hope in Jesus. I pray that He will give you this free gift.

If you don't want to go then don't. But don't let fear ruin your life. God did not give a spirit of fear. Who did?
