Sorry, you are a racist. I guess I am too, I hate French cuisine.

LOL.... attraction is NOT biological.. i wasn't attracted to this any person of this race, physically, but i found myself attracted to some at this one time in my life and I didn't know why... I wasn't racist either, I was attracted to more of what was inside and not of what is on the outside, the way she carried herself... We all just have our preferences... You're not born to like and dislike a specific race... Interracial marriage comes in all varieties...

I am sorry for the miscommunication there. I did not mean to imply that biology leads us not to be attracted to specific races. Biology does lean us to what we are attracted too though. And some races might not fit into a particular persons mold of what is attractive, generally.

My point was that attraction in itself does not make you a racist.

Short version.. talking to a 'friend' on CC, they had asked if i had any physical preferences in women. So i stated that there were, in fact, some specific races i did not find physically attractive. This friend then brought up the term racist.
I explained that my preferences in this area were only physical, and that i held nothing against these races, i had no problems being friends with them. And also i had no problem with others marrying and mixing. It was strictly a physical lack of interest and one i can't control. Even after that my 'friend' proceeds to flatly call me a racist.
Then went on to ask me if i 'hated' those races, did i hate other races as well. I was pretty floored and gave them a piece of my mind. We haven't talked since.

So, what's your take? Am i a racist/hateful because i mostly don't find some race/ethnicities physically attractive, while having no problem with them in any other manner?

In my opinion, no. Also, if you were truly racist, you would probably dislike both genders of that particular race.

I think there are attractive women in all races. Maybe some more than others, but that's just personal preference.

I'm Asian and adopted into a white family... I have one Asian brother and one white brother who are both married to Asian women. I was formerly married to someone who was half-Asian...

I like to say my family is half-Asian... and that the Asians are taking over. I JOKE (it's only a joke) with my parents that if I marry again, it will have to be to a white guy in order to "equal out" the racial balance of the family... (Actually... race isn't an issue with me--my dating pool includes white, black, and Asian, more due to proximity than preference.) Perhaps I'm an Affirmative Actionist? :D You should see it when my family is out in public together... people get REALLY confused.

I personally believe that in some cases, God puts certain preferences on our hearts--I have a white friend who always felt a preference to marry someone black (and they have), and my white brother, in his later years of dating, felt that he wanted to marry someone Asian, which he did.

I have always been taught that Moses married a Cu****e? (Someone of Egyptian descent, therefore, of a darker complexion?) Feel free to correct this if I'm wrong... am just going by memory. This is just me, but I don't think preferences are necessarily racist... sometimes I think it's God's gentle nudging towards whom He has for us.

Thanks for all the responses guys. I didn't feel i was being racist either. But thought it would make an interesting topic, and help me vent the frustration of the situation. And even in things that seem obvious it never hurts to double check things when they're called into question.
