Am I Saved?
The first verse we should take into consideration is: For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things. This verse tells me, even after my heart stopped condemning me, God will still work on me, to make me free! Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God. After our hearts condemn us not, we have confidence toward God.
Just by these two verses, the answer is very clear. I guess I should live a life where my heart would not condemn me. And when will (should) my heart condemn me. Again the answer is in the Bible. Did God not say that the Spirit of Truth will… And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:… (John 16:8) God is the ONE that is greater than my heart, even if my heart stopped condemning me; the Holy Spirit still has some things to reprove me of. That is how thorough God works. Even if we are no longer sinning, the Holy Spirit still has to do some things with us before we are complete. But that is another subject.
What does God save us from? It is easy to understand that a child that is drowning in water should be lifted out of the water to be saved. So it is also easy to assume that once the life-saver touch that child in the water, it is very likely that the child is already out of danger. But that is not the case. Some life-savers drowned while saving other people. And many life-savers lost people on their way out of the water. But ALL the people that life-savers saved were safely brought back to DRY GROUND! Our assurance of being saved from drowning is when we stand on dry ground.
What is our assurance about salvation IN GOD? You see this is the easiest of question to answer. We have to know what God saves us from. He saves us from sin. Not only the PENALTY of sin: DEATH, he also saves us from SIN! Like the child in the water, the child is saved from water to dry land. We are saved from sin in this world, to NO SIN - IN GOD: WHILE WE ARE STILL IN THIS WORLD! God is very serious about this salvation. So serious that He gave us this verse to consider about our salvation IN HIM. 1 John 3:8.. He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. The next few words in this verse show us how to be NOT of the devil… For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. AH! Jesus is the answer to sin. If Jesus can destroy the works of the devil in my life then I will no longer be “of the devil”. Now what is the works of the devil? SIN! Is there a place here on earth where sin is not committeth? Here is the answer….And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. (1 John3:5)
So let me finish this…. If salvation is IN THE LORD, and IN HIM IS NO SIN, then all saved people IN HIM committeth NO SIN! There is NO SIN TO COMMIT IN HIM! God is IN THIS WORLD, but this world is NOT IN GOD! Only the saved in this world is IN GOD!
May the Lord save us, and be sure that HE LOVES TOO! Let us put our faith in HIM to save us from ALL EVIL! Because…..The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, (2 Peter 2:9) Thank You Lord that You know how to deliver us out of temptations. Remember Jesus taught us to pray….. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil….. Next time you and I pray this, BELIEVE HE CAN AND HE WILL!
Thank you for reading this, and I pray the Lord’s will be done in us, as His will is done in heaven…. Perfectly!
I typed this because I love you and this I say from my heart, how pure or dark it is makes no difference, I Love You Jesus, with all I got, sorry I am not IN YOU YET! I know my salvation is in YOUR hands, AMEN!
