The new covenant does seem to come to an abrupt end at Christ’s return with the gathering of God's elect, the first fruits (the first resurrection and the changed). Those who are ruled on this earth with a rod of Iron after Christ’s return with Satan bound and out of the way for a 1,000 years are not ruled the same way God’s elect (first fruits) were ruled by yielding to the Holy Spirit under the new covenant and overcoming to the end in the midst of a dark world ruled and swayed by Satan.

you really really really need to rethink this.

that tiny little chapter that actually REVEALS what the first resurrection is - (it is CHRIST'S...if you are not buried with Him in baptism and RAISED WITH HIM in His resurrection - you are not saved and are dead in your sins....if you have taken part in the FIRST RESURRECTION - the Second death - the lake of fire has no hold on you) is so abused, people just can not understand it...all the way to the point of denying he is King; denying He ruling; denying He is Victor; denying His Sacrifice was sufficient....all the way down into MADNESS - that He did not accomplish ANYTHING thing He came to do.

it's just terrifying to me to see this underway. and to KNOW how it was done...how this corruption was brought in...and have people literally SO BLIND they refuse....utterly refuse to reconsider.

Matthew 13
10The disciples came to him and asked, “Why do you speak to the people in parables?”

11He replied, “Because the knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them. 12Whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them. 13This is why I speak to them in parables:

“Though seeing, they do not see;
though hearing, they do not hear or understand.
14In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah:

“ ‘You will be ever hearing but never understanding;
you will be ever seeing but never perceiving.
15For this people’s heart has become calloused;
they hardly hear with their ears,
and they have closed their eyes.
Otherwise they might see with their eyes,
hear with their ears,
understand with their hearts
and turn, and I would heal them.’a

16But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear. 17For truly I tell you, many prophets and righteous people longed to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.

18“Listen then to what the parable of the sower means: 19When anyone hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in their heart. This is the seed sown along the path. 20The seed falling on rocky ground refers to someone who hears the word and at once receives it with joy. 21But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away. 22The seed falling among the thorns refers to someone who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, making it unfruitful. 23But the seed falling on good soil refers to someone who hears the word and understands it. This is the one who produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.”

The Parable of the Weeds

24Jesus told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field. 25But while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and went away. 26When the wheat sprouted and formed heads, then the weeds also appeared.

27“The owner’s servants came to him and said, ‘Sir, didn’t you sow good seed in your field? Where then did the weeds come from?’

28“ ‘An enemy did this,’ he replied.

“The servants asked him, ‘Do you want us to go and pull them up?’

29“ ‘No,’ he answered, ‘because while you are pulling the weeds, you may uproot the wheat with them. 30Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat and bring it into my barn.’ ”

The Parables of the Mustard Seed and the Yeast

31He told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field. 32Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds come and perch in its branches.”

33He told them still another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like yeast that a woman took and mixed into about sixty poundsb of flour until it worked all through the dough.”

34Jesus spoke all these things to the crowd in parables; he did not say anything to them without using a parable. 35So was fulfilled what was spoken through the prophet:

“I will open my mouth in parables,
I will utter things hidden since the creation of the world.”

The Parable of the Weeds Explained

36Then he left the crowd and went into the house. His disciples came to him and said, “Explain to us the parable of the weeds in the field.”

37He answered, “The one who sowed the good seed is the Son of Man. 38The field is the world, and the good seed stands for the people of the kingdom. The weeds are the people of the evil one, 39and the enemy who sows them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the harvesters are angels.

40“As the weeds are pulled up and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of the age. 41The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will weed out of his kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil. 42They will throw them into the blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

43Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Whoever has ears, let them hear.

When putting the old testament scriptures about the events following the Day of the Lord together with Revelation It seems that there will be a different arrangement, maybe a different agreement/covenant at that time between God and the nations (peoples) that are left who will be ruled with a rod of iron..... and for the first time in human history... in the absence of satanic influences. Interesting to note that without Satan’s influences men will still need to be ruled with a rod of iron. God has made many covenants between men at different times and it seems another one would be fitting for this new age.

I can’t ignore the following scripture in Zechariah:

“And it shall come to pass that everyone who is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the Feast of Tabernacles. And it shall be that whichever of the families of the earth do not come up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, on them there will be no rain.... This shall be the punishment of...all the nations that do not come up to keep the Feast of Tabernacles.”

Looks like people will be ruled with the rod of no-rain for not coming up to keep the Feast of Tabernacles.

Now yes… all of this can be easily discounted and swept under the rug if we were to convert everything over to spiritual symbolism but from what I can see there will be physical people left alive on this earth after Christ’s return. The only question is exactly how they will be dealt with. But no matter how they’re dealt with in the new age, those under the New Covenant at this time are not being dealt with in the same manner. And I’m not about to adopt ordinances that will be given to those who are ruled with a rod of iron in the new age to myself who has yielded to the Holy Spirit in this present age.

There will not be a change in how one is saved. So in that aspect. there is no new covenant.

But as far as how God works in the affairs of men (dispensation) things will change. He will be the world government. Not men.

Am I incorrect in thinking that you think the first resurrection has already happened? If so, that would contradict Paul's words to Timothy:

Their message will spread like gangrene, among whom are Hymenaeus and Philetus, who have deviated concerning the truth by saying the resurrection has already taken place, and they are upsetting the faith of some. 2 Timothy 2:17-18

Nonsense. Matt 24;27 "For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man." When the Son of Man comes again, he will be visible to all, not just a few apostles on a mountain.

Yes he will come that way. And yes all the world will see him. But he will come just as the angel said. Are are yuo calling the angel a liar?

In fact Christ specifically says: Matt 24;26 “So if anyone tells you, ‘There he is, out in the wilderness,’ do not go out; or, ‘Here he is, in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it."

Thus is anyone says "Look, there he is, sitting on David's throne in Jerusalem, you are not to believe it."

You are already disobeying Christ for being prepared to believe exactly what he instructed you not to do.

You are calling an angel a liar. I am not going against what Christ said. He will return in the clouds. And everyone will see him. So I am not doing what you say at all.

Mark my words: Dispyism is the new Pharisee'ism, it's the new legalism, the notion that the Israel of law will be saved. You are putting yourselves into the same category as the false teachers in Galations who preached the continuation of the law. Serious consequences!!!!!!!!!!!!

And you just proved you do not even know what dispensationalism is (except for a few out their who distort it to their own false belief)

Israel of the law will NEVER be saved.

They will repent. THEN God will restor them

don;t go bashing on something you do not understand!

There will not be a change in how one is saved. So in that aspect. there is no new covenant.

But as far as how God works in the affairs of men (dispensation) things will change. He will be the world government. Not men.

EG - you know there will not be any other way men are saved.

so how are we saved...how will it be unchanged?

Romans 8:24
For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have?

2 Corinthians 4:18
So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

Hebrews 3:6
But Christ is faithful as the Son over God's house. And we are his house, if indeed we hold firmly to our confidence and the hope in which we glory.

Hebrews 3:14
We have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original conviction firmly to the very end.

Hebrews 10:39
But we do not belong to those who shrink back and are destroyed, but to those who have faith and are saved.

Acts 20
20how I did not shrink from declaring to you anything that was profitable, and teaching you publicly and from house to house, 21solemnly testifying to both Jews and Greeks of repentance toward God and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Luke 16
The Rich Man and Lazarus
19“There was a rich man who was clothed in purple and fine linen and who feasted sumptuously every day. 20And at his gate was laid a poor man named Lazarus, covered with sores, 21who desired to be fed with what fell from the rich man’s table. Moreover, even the dogs came and licked his sores. 22The poor man died and was carried by the angels to Abraham’s side.f The rich man also died and was buried, 23and in Hades, being in torment, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham far off and Lazarus at his side. 24And he called out, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus to dip the end of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am in anguish in this flame.’ 25But Abraham said, ‘Child, remember that you in your lifetime received your good things, and Lazarus in like manner bad things; but now he is comforted here, and you are in anguish. 26And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been fixed, in order that those who would pass from here to you may not be able, and none may cross from there to us.’ 27And he said, ‘Then I beg you, father, to send him to my father’s house— 28for I have five brothersg—so that he may warn them, lest they also come into this place of torment.’ 29But Abraham said, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets; let them hear them.’ 30And he said, ‘No, father Abraham, but if someone goes to them from the dead, they will repent.’ 31He said to him, ‘If they do not hear Moses and the Prophets, neither will they be convinced if someone should rise from the dead.’”

1st Thessalonians 4:13) But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
14 .) For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
15 .) For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
16 .) For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 .) Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
18 .) Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

AMEN.

Currently I’m not being ruled with a rod of iron and Satan is not bound. The new covenant is an agreement with God and the first fruits. Just like the terms of the old covenant came to completion after Christ’s first coming the scriptures seems to indicate the terms of the new covenant will come to completion after Christ’s second coming and gathering of the first fruits.

how many resurrections are we told to expect?
the first resurrection is mentioned once. one time.....in one place. in Rev 20. nowhere else.

it is Christ's resurrection, and if you have not been raised to new life, you haven't partaken of it.

Ephesians 2
5even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,

Colossians 2:12
having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through your faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead.

Romans 6
3Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death? 4Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life. 5For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection

the first resurrection is not The Resurrection....the Last Day.
it is the miracle of the regeneration unto eternal life, whereby the second death has no claim on us.

John 5:24
"Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life.

John 6:47
Very truly I tell you, the one who believes has eternal life.

John 8:51
Very truly I tell you, whoever obeys my word will never see death."

There is only one resurrection per person. The first resurrection is described as those in Christ who have died coming to life. Nowhere in scripture is the new birth called a resurrection. The resurrection pertains to the body.

what is the first resurrection?

there is ONE Resurrection of the just and the unjust.

There is only one resurrection per person.

?

The resurrection pertains to the body.

so how many resurrections are there? a billion?

or ONE? we are told ONE...so the FIRST RESURRECTION has to be something other than the Bodily resurrection at Judgment.
any other interpretation ends up with a literal temple and animal sacrifices....as we have seen

the first resurrection is mentioned once.
this is crucial...and is the linchpin for the ludicrous system developed around the UNBIBLICAL idea that there are any more than ONE Resurrection.

they got it from Rev 20.

and had to create TWO of everything.

Revelation recapitulates and views redemptive history from 7 different angles, starting over and ending with varying accounts of the history from the beginning to the end (eternity) - without a single reference to a future exactly 1,000 year interim earthly kingdom.

it's not there.

there are two overlapping scenes there - just like the Victorious Lamb (from Heavenly Zion) overlooking the scene on earth (with the beast)....these are ONE VISION blended into what people think are TWO.

just like Rev 20.

i'll check in later...could run out of service any moment.

why do the last few chapters of Ezekiel describe a temple?

It's quite possible that Ezekiel's Temple was based on a response by Israel to God's conditions. Israel did not respond; therefore Ezekiel's Temple was never - and will never - be built. Theologians have tried to fit Ezekiel's Temple into a Millennial template, but there are several fatal flaws in such a theology:

  • The once-for-all, Final, Perfect Sacrifice of Christ
  • Christ's forever, Perfect High Priesthood
  • Christ Himself instituting of a memorial of His Work - the partaking of the Bread and the Wine

More below . . .

I wholeheartedly disagree.

A non-bodily resurrection is not mentioned once.

Because a Temple will be built during the Millenium and yes, there will be Levitical priests there and they will offer sacrifices just as Ezekiel says they will.

No, there will not be an active Levitical priesthood there. Not unless you propose that there will be two different priesthoods in operation simultaneously, which is not found ANYWHERE in Scripture!

Or unless you deny that Jesus is a High Priest Forever . . .

-JGIG

There is one resurrection per person, but that doesn't mean that the resurrections of the just and unjust have to happen at the same time.

really?
then you're already semi-amil - semi-accepting of the first resurrection.

in reality:

ONE RESURRECTION OF ALL - "the living and the dead" at Judgment.

those who died in Christ will come with Him FOR THAT.

this has to be read just plainly for what it says.

Matthew 25
The Final Judgment

31“When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. 32Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33And he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left. 34Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. 35For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, 36I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ 37Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? 38And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? 39And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ 40And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers,f you did it to me.’

41“Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, 43I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.’ 44Then they also will answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to you?’ 45Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.’ 46And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

Haven't read Ezek 40 through 48 have you?

Yes, I have, quite thoroughly.

And as I'll show below, when measuring unrevealed prophecy, one must always do so through the lens of revealed Truth:

If there will be Levites in the Millennial Kingdom acting in the office of the Levitical priesthood, then you have to throw out the following Scriptures:

John 2:19

19 Jesus answered and said to them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.”

And especially this one:

Hebrews 7:11-16
11 If perfection could have been attained through the Levitical priesthood—

And that, right there, raises at least a couple of interesting questions:

  • Why would Christ reigning in a Millennial Kingdom be memorializing something that did not bring perfection?
  • Why would Christ reigning in a Millennial Kingdom be using an inferior covenantal system to memorialize His Work, when He Himself instituted a memorial to His Work, the partaking of the Bread and the Wine?

Back to Hebrews 7:

. . . and indeed the law given to the people established that priesthood—why was there still need for another priest to come, one in the order of Melchizedek, not in the order of Aaron?

12 For when the priesthood is changed, the law must be changed also.

13 He of whom these things are said belonged to a different tribe,
and no one from that tribe has ever served at the altar.

14 For it is clear that our Lord descended from Judah, and in regard to that tribe Moses said nothing about priests.

15 And what we have said is even more clear if another priest like Melchizedek appears,

16 one who has become a priest not on the basis of a regulation as to his ancestry
but on the basis of the power of an indestructible life.

But wait, there's more:

17 For it is declared:
“You are a priest forever,
in the order of Melchizedek.”

18 The former regulation is set aside
because it was weak and useless 19 (for the law made nothing perfect),

Again, why would God be memorializing Christ with a system that was 'weak and useless' because it 'made nothing perfect', when Christ is able to save to the uttermost and does make us perfect! ("14 For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified. -Hebrews 10:14)?

After all -

18 (cont.)
and a better hope is introduced, by which we draw near to God.

So we can see from the Scriptures that

  1. Christ is a Perfect High Priest Forever by an oath from God and by the power of an indestructible Life
  2. He is of the Tribe of Judah
  3. No one from the Tribe of Judah has ever served at the Altar
  4. Service at the Altar would have to be officiated by Levites
  5. Since Christ is a Forever Perfect High Priest, and cannot serve at the altar as one of the Tribe of Judah, there would have to be two priesthoods operating simultaneously, which is not supported anywhere in the Scritpures

So sacrifices in a Millennial Kingdom make NO sense at all from a Biblical perspective.

When one is measuring unrevealed prophecies, one must do so in light of/through the lens of revealed Truths.

The Forever, Perfect High Priesthood of Christ disqualifies the concept of sacrifices in ANY future scenario that honors God.

Will there be a temple with sacrifices officiated by Levites at some point in the future? I don't doubt that there will; but it will not be of God, and will be an abomination to the Cross and to The One Who spilt His Precious Blood there!

Some thoughts to chew on,
-JGIG

what is the first resurrection?
you must be able to address it...whatever you decide, it's THERE.

please read the very short piece to at least familiarize yourself with the proposition.
the scriptures are there.
