Most of the churches around here are independent baptist. They claim non denominational, but that's because the general populace doesn't understand the variations of doctrine. Honestly, it's a shame we have different doctrines to begin with! We have one God, one bible, and therefore we should have one doctrine.


I am a dispensationalist. That means I take the bible literally. Jericho actually fell, Jonah was swallowed by a whale, a donkey actually spoke, etc. I don't think the church is spiritual Israel, and this thread was started to create further division in this forum.

Let's not feed the troll, okay? Let's enjoy one another and not debate doctrinally gray areas.

The Bible is made up of many genres, so many parts are to be taken literally (for example: Genesis to Esther - including the latter, the Gospels and Acts etc.) but others are prophecies and songs.

I don´t know. I haven´t notice these words by the moment I post my words... But I consider your saying VERY IMOPRTANT, since this is the forum of single people (not of divorced, like me).

I think it´s important because those who plan to marry NEED to know the person they like to be married and, being Christians (of multiple denominations) that will affect their living as a couple (at least it affected mine, who once married a pentecostalist).

I was raised "nominally" in the same denomination you were raised... For people of TEAM EXPANSION I came to know better about Christ and, from several years, I have visited many churches and denominations. I also was about to be circuncized, but I settled down (in my mind) many things men´s believed could not teach me well (I hope GOD speaks to me, one of these days, personally).

Yep, I know. I believe those prophesies will happen and that those songs were written and sung by whomever. I'm just saying that I believe God created an easy to understand book for his people to know him and to know how to live their lives. That and other things too.

I belong to a very loving church. It's Disciples of Christ. DOC for short. As a nurse, I can appreciate that

I have shared a lot with them, some years ago, in Venezuela: Churches of Christ and Disciples of Christ once split for manly reasons. One I know it´s using or not musical instruments in worship.

Is God offended by being praised with music? Why did David publicly dance, to be seen by people or to set free his joy, not matter being seen by men or women?

Reformed Baptist, strong sympathies for numerous conservative presbyterian churches, reformed churches, and some other unheard of groups.

Fellowship with a Reformed Baptist church at school, at home I attend a Free Presbyterian Church of America, which I like quite a bit.

You have come down a very similar road to me. My mother was very foursquare and pentecostal Charismatic, but the first time I went to an EOC, I was blown away. I was in love.

Its a shame we do not have any orthodox churches here where I live or else I would claim that outright.
