I do that and it'll go away for a few minutes but then come back worse than before. The temptation is overwhelming and for whatever reason praying only postpones it
Truthfully, we're supposed to be (mentally) conversing with God every waking hour. And it is conversing. He does talk back, even if we don't hear him. A parking spot after grocery shopping is God talking back. (Sometimes he tell us "Got you one close to home." Sometimes he says, "Walking does you good." lol) One single lilac flower on the bush in August is God giving me a pleasant surprise. Getting me out of the house in time to see forsythia flowers encased in a sheet of ice on the bush is him showing me what he can do with March weather. Coming downstairs to a clean kitchen is him showing me, he gave me a very good husband. And he really does most of his talking when I study his word.
And right now, I'm asking him to remind me to leave this chair and get to work in a couple of minutes, so it really is supposed to be a constant conversation. (Not to say I do that either, but it is something I'm working toward.)
