Can any of the elect offer some sincere glimmer of hope to the non-chosen around them? Any passage or bit of advice to those who are not called? Must they simply accept their fate in the hereafter? I can think of a few but would like to hear from those who know they are of the elect.
all are called, With the choice to believe God in son or not!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Son Jesus is risen where new life is given from Father to us, known as the Holy Spirit to teach us new over man intervening as has been doing for a long while now.
Every person whether male or female puts on their pants the same, one leg at a time
We are all equaled by God and God has no respect of any person better than any other person.
Jesus went to that cross for us all

Hebrews 10:10

Living Bible

10 Under this new plan we have been forgiven and made clean by Christ’s dying for us once and for all.

John 10:10

Living Bible

10 The thief’s purpose is to steal, kill and destroy. My purpose is to give life in all its fullness.

John 19:30

Living Bible

30 When Jesus had tasted[a] it, he said, “It is finished,” and bowed his head and dismissed his spirit.
He is risen for us to believe it and stand in it, no matter what troubles happen to us or not, kind of like being a Job also in the book of Job, will you deny God?

Those that choose not to believe remain lost in the first birth of their own flesh and blood. Stressed out and striving and begging and stealing not seeing it as it is not good for them. these, I see are in need to believe God personally, God does, will protect those that will not deny God, even though it seems, at first one is not protected, going through troubles first, I tell you, God will accept you in too, actually has in Son for you and all others on that cross Eph 1:6, 7,13 believe God, Get sealed by God and then trust God Phil 1:6
So go to God from within you, and tell God, you believe God and desire to know God. This is not a vending machine where you put money in an out comes chewy goodness, the tis the worlds ploy to keep people out of Heaven

From Ephesians 1:4-6
:)
Therefore we all are elected to either believe God or not in risen Son or not! Which begins when one accepts, they are forgiven by God in Son on that cross. that is finished for us all, the lamb of God that took away this world's sin first, so new life could get given in his risen Life for us all to believe it or not, it is not of work(s) of any person, it is of God's done work for us to be new in the risen Life of Son Jesus for us. The death had to happen first read Acts 1 to see that truth told to the disciples to accept he had to go through what he went though for us the people, that had to get done first, before any new life could ever get installed in any person that chooses to believe God and stand in that, even as Job did, it is for us too to not deny God, even if feel as, to do that. I know from adversities the flesh wants to steal, kill and destroy through emotion(s) over anything going wrong presently (John 10:10)

The OP is not about "non-believers" but the non-elect. IOW, those who God chose not to be given the ability to believe in Him.

What words of hope, if any can be given to them?

Inviting people over for dinner is great but what if they are not pre-selected for salvation? What words of encouragement, if any, can you as a chosen one (elect) give to them?

These verses apply only to the "chosen people" not the non-chosen people.
How can we assume/differentiate the 'non-elect' from any other non-believer?

If there is such a thing as prelection then everyone, based on God's will that none shall perish, is preselected. If God does preselect some and excludes others, than my counsel to those not selected is to 'eat, drink, and be merry because tomorrow you will die. Any such preselection by God precludes any such chance for those not selected. It is indeed a hopeless situation.
Amen good thing that’s not how God is

“For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.”
‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭2:3-4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Hope may not be the best choice of words.

How about "chance"? Is there any chance of salvation for those not preselected ahead of time?
Jesus is the only one chosen before time everyone that believes in him becomes part of his body who is chosen

It’s entirely based on a lost world and God offering Jesus to save us

“For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.”
‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭2:3-4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”
‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭3:9‬ ‭KJV‬‬

It’s not his Will for anyone to perish but for all to hear and acknolwedge the truth and be saved. Show them the scriptures

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
‭‭John‬ ‭3:16‬

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”
‭‭John‬ ‭5:24‬ ‭KJV‬‬

and one can believe until they hear

How do you know, for sure, who is elect and who is not around you? I don't know people's hearts and whether they are truly saved (elect) or not. Only God knows, for sure. I know that God can save people as his elect late in life, because my dad became a Christian at the age of 77, two years before he died. A friend of mine became a believer at the age of 81, a week before he died.

As believers, God has called us to share our testimonies of what he has done in our lives and for us as his witnesses by giving him the full credit. Give your testimonies appropriately and lovingly, and leave the rest up to God, who can save them.

That is my understanding too and I take comfort in that. Others should too.
I’ve always thought that’s what draws people to this verse

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
‭‭John‬ ‭3:16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

2 Corinthians 1:20 No matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through Him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God.

I take it you mean those Calvinists call the eternally elect.

Perhaps,
1. Eat drink and be merry, for tomorrow you may die.
2. Things could be always be worse than they are.

Ephesians 2:1-3 You were dead in your trespasses and sins, in which you used to walk when you conformed to the ways of this world and of the ruler of the power of the air, the spirit who is now at work in the sons of disobedience. All of us also lived among them at one time, fulfilling the cravings of our flesh and indulging its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature children of wrath. :)

Ephesians 2:4-7 ~ Because of His great love for us, God, Who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in our trespasses. It is by grace you have been saved! And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages He might display the surpassing riches of His grace, demonstrated by His kindness to us in Christ Jesus. :)
