Hi Deror! Thank you for writing all of this! You didn't say too much :) I love writing and connecting with other likeminded people too (I tend to write a lot too lol).

Most definitely, this prayer group could be strictly on CC. I'm not sure what kind of features the site has (I haven't been here in a while) but we can check them out and see what it has to offer.

EXACTLY!- if you have nothing to hide then that shouldn't offend! I think the same way about it and usually when a person is too easily offended about being upfront or whatever then that definitely says something.

I too have had some very very disappointing, weird, creepy etc. experiences online (and in real life for that matter) that have made me very cautious AND wise about red flags to look for. The Lord has made me very discerning by allowing me to be in many situations, good and bad...but mostly the bad ones...sigh :cautious:- so, I'm ready to spot the snakes in the grass if that were to happen...I hate dealing with it and the sad people who do those things but its unfortunately a part of life. I don't mean to go off on a tangent about it but, there's SO MANY MORE sad people like that out here than genuine, sincere, happy, just-want-to-help-and-be-helped people. It's something I think about a lot...I guess because I constantly come across it. Anyway...

I dedicated my life to the Lord and have been walking with him since November 2001. It's been an amazing journey so far, marked by trials and suffering, meeting amazing sisters and brothers and joyousness. Currently I've gone through a period of...can't think of the words...I guess just seeking God's direction and His healing, overcoming power. A big reason why I thought to come back to this site :)

I'm on EST time so we'll have to see what time zone everyone is in and arrange it. Thanks for offering those resources! I'd love to hear more about it. I also have gathered heaps lol of resources and research in my journey and would love to share. That's a big reason why I wanted to reach out about this so we all can come together and share what we've gathered along our journeys and help each other in Jesus' name. And yes I'm hoping for all that you mentioned above: fully accountable, being led, mentored, learning, teaching, fellowshiping in the Spirit...all of it :) I'm excited!

I don't want to highjack this thread so I'll stop here. Sorry to reply so late, its been a busy week and I'm just able to check this site again. I look forward to hearing back from you and everyone else. Praise God! Thank you!
Hi like-minded, hope you’re alright and had some rest after a busy time. There’s been a lot of activity where I’m at so would’ve written sooner.

I don’t wanna hijack Wade’s thread either so you’re welcome to PM me if you wanna chat further about your ideas, maybe we could bounce some helpful ideas around. I try to check in once a week at least, but sometimes life gets either busy or overwhelming to be honest.

About the sites features, I’m not sure either esp since the change, but I did wonder if we could ask for a chat room of our own, even possibly offer some PayPal payment for exclusive use of a space in the chat rooms. To use specifically for anxiety support / prayer. But then I got worried about people’s safety, and wellbeing. Esp vulnerable people. Then I wondered if someone like Angela might moderate, or be an overseer, like a safeguarding person. Or someone who has pastoral care experience, like a minister. But I guess they’re busy with their own flock. Just some ideas rolling around during the week.... or even a private forum like the ladies forum.

Yes, I agree with you like-minded about there being so many sincere people out there but it’s the internet. I guess taking it steady, being able to honestly ask questions, express concerns will help navigate and take one step at a time.. i hate dealing with the negative side of the internet, life, the world etc too, it’s a pity cos the internet can be such an awesome tool for believers but I guess it’s part of the world, so we gotta be wise yet innocent.. in the world but not of it.
Sorry I’m reading your post as I reply and I read wrong what you wrote — did you say you encounter the bad more than good? I’m sorry about that, hope you begin to meet some good eggs for a change.
I’ve been on the internet since about 2007 and I needed to take a long break a few years ago, and noticed a definite change when dipping my toe back in.. it’s definitely got worse.. doesn’t help anxiety... yet there can be such awesome people out there too,,, I guess we just gotta be careful, prayerful, watchful and discerning... I’ve had to find courage to be assertive instead of being scared of people.. anxious of them... open but shielded 🙂 It’s obvious to me now how much we all need Jesus. The world is getting so lost. It’s so vital to be grounded in Him to continue to shine the blesse Gospel light. I’m seeing how much more Good News is needed as the months turn into years. Trolls and bad mannered peeps need help really. It’s a big reason I wanna kick anxiety’s butt to be honest so I can fight the good fight and not be affected no more.

Praying for your healing overcoming season. You are His workmanship so what He has started with you, no doubt Jesus can and will finish His good work in you, concerning you. I honestly believe He doesn’t bake bread half done. Pray God’s guidance is crystal clear to you and you receive His help continually.

In 2013, I finally put my trust in The finished work of Jesus, and finally found clarity about Who saves and how 🙂 My journey been a bit all over the place, not knowing that assurance until 2013. I’m thankful for the pastors and preachers who teach the simplicity of Christ Jesus 🙂 it’s actually helped the anxiety dissipate immensely but then a whole new set of problems so quite the journey really, I’m talking too much... just wanna say, Jesus is faithful and although anxiety can try to overwhelm me, I know I’m sealed with His Holy Spirit and have awesome help from Jesus. To have Jesus to turn to, someone that I can count on is priceless... it’s definitely helping with the battle. God bless you like-minded. God Most High is in control ! He cares for everyone. Be blessed in Jesus name. Take care now.

Thank you for your kind words Deror!

I'm open to anyway that it could be done. It could be supervised by a moderator or something like that. I haven't been to the site in a while so I don't know who Angela is. Whatever makes everyone comfortable I am for. It would be great if there were a good balance of brothers to sisters. I think so far its me, you, another brother and another sister so we have 2 and 2. I'll check with them to see if they're still interested. It looks like a new chat feature with groups was added, maybe we could do that? I'll PM everyone. Maybe we can try to get things started tomorrow, if not then maybe sometime this week?

Hi there, hope you’re well.
I’ve just checked out the new chat feature. It looks really neat and streamlined, appears easy enough to use and so I guess straightforward enough to set up a chat group for anxiety prayer.

I see a blue chat icon on my screen, when I clicked it there was the chat page opened in a new tab.
Not sure if it’s IM, or voice chat though... maybe both options are available.

Angela is a mental health practitioner I think but she may not have free time to schedule to moderate a group, sorry Angela for mentioning you, you were the person that popped to mind.

Well if it’s just prayer for now, and sharing words of life and support, I’d be comfortable with that for now. Sorry if my anxiety is showing 🤭 I’m willing to try it out as long as I’m comfortable. Look forward to praying with you all, where two or three are gathered an all 🙂

Agree with the balance of brothers and sisters, I don’t think I’d be comfortable around just men, and having said that, I’d like you to know that I’m someone who respects married couples and the sanctity of marriage. I wouldn’t partake in no funny business with a married man! That would be terrible and I’d never wanna do that. Wives are a precious precious gift, as is marriage. God bless you!
I see people as a brother or sister in Christ and hope they see me as a sister. As Christ looks at me.

I’ll wait for the Pm now, don’t wanna hijack Wades thread, sorry Wade! Hope you’re doing well by the way, Jesus Bless us all. Hope everyone has an anxiety-free evening and an overcoming new week in Christ’s strength.
Take good care. Grace ‘n Peace to you.

Hmm...maybe we shouldn't. I'm not too anxious about it because I'm excited to pray with my brothers and sisters...I guess for me there's that level of trust already established because this is a Christian site and I trust that you all are who you say you are (until proven otherwise because the truth always comes out). But I have a good feeling that everyone that replied to it is who they say they are. I know we all have our levels of anxiety but if this type of thing is too much for you then maybe we shouldn't.

I just want to pray, that's all...relate to other believers in this anxiety struggle...support and receive support. There's zero funny business in my heart and mind. I'm serious about the business of Christ and don't play any games like that. This actually makes me sad that the evil in the world has caused things like this...its like a victory for the devil because we're all so isolated and scattered and can't even trust each other because of all the hurts and abuses :(

Maybe it can be separate where the brothers pray with each other and the sisters pray with each other?

Erm, I honestly don’t know how to respond to this. But this will be my last response in this thread.

I was trying to establish a personal boundary as well as offer reassurance about participating in a prayer group as a single woman with a married man present too. Maybe my choice of words were wrong, for that I’m very sorry, it was my attempt to explain as I wasn’t sure how to word what I was trying to say.. but trying to keep it lighthearted as well.
Oh dear. Not sure what to make of this....

Not even going to try to respond to the other stuff, like trust, being serious about Christ’s business, playing games, being isolated, “this type of thing being too much for me” A bit presumptuous really.

Not even going to attempt to explain myself, I know I’m genuine.
I’d rather not continue and opt out on this occasion, Thankyou.

All the best to you in your journey, sincerely praying for you to overcome in Christ Jesus, by His strength and Holy Spirit. May you receive the healing you need (we all do) from Jesus by His Spirit.
May your idea of being a support to one another bear good fruit and many people be helped in Jesus name. He is the best help.

All the very best. I’m sorry but I’ve been around the block enough times and met enough people to know when something isn’t going to work. It’s better to know early on rather than later. Doesn’t mean it won’t work out for you and others. Doesn’t mean it won’t work out for me either. Trusting God on this one, take care now. God Bless you and yours. Really hope your idea works out.

I am looking for someone to talk to about anxiety.I feel like nobody knows exactly what people with anxiety go through on a daily basis. It’s been 9 years, I’m ready to move on from this , but something is holding me back. I keep all my feeling bundled up inside because I feel nobody will understand. Anyone who would like to talk about this through e-mail or text and form a relationship to try and help one another, let me know. If not, I ask you say a prayer for me, and everyone who suffers from this horrible mental illness.

God bless !
I have suffered from this for many years and I can offer support i know what it is like I wake up with it and I meditate and pray to release myself from it it sometimes overwhelms me and it can report feel like there is no way forward God bless yiu

I suffer from anxiety attacks, and sometimes I'm not even sure what triggers them. One of the worst I ever had, suddenly hit me when I was decorating cookies with my kids last Christmas! A happy and joyful thing with my kids, and boom - out of nowhere, I couldn't breathe, chest felt tight, and I had to go outside in -35 to breathe in the cold air. Cold air always helps, for some reason. I really don't like depending on medication for this, but I only take it if I absolutely have to. This is something that has plagued me since a teen. I'm a happy person otherwise, so I haven't a clue why I'd have anxiety attacks. My doc says it's because I'm bottling things from my past up, even if I don't realize it.
It's probably all that yoga you do- allowing spiritually dangerous things in without realising.
The Bible explains how subtle our enemy the Devil is. The roots of yoga are bad. Repent of it and get prayer.

@Butterflyyy, what do you find bad about yoga? If you are only exercising and stretching without adding something like meditation, chanting or anything else, what makes it wrong?

Sorry but thinking that yoga in any form is spiritually okay is naive... our enemy is subtle... practicing yoga is giving opportunity for demonic powers to affect/enter. It is very easy to access information about this on YouTube and the internet.
Be blessed.

I agree. This topic has come up before:

The word yoga means "union," and the goal is to unite one's transitory (temporary) self with the infinite Brahman, the Hindu concept of "God." This god is not a literal being, but is an impersonal spiritual substance that is one with nature and the cosmos. This view is called "pantheism," the belief that everything is God and that reality consists only of the universe and nature. Because everything is God, the yoga philosophy makes no distinction between man and God. The practice of yoga is based on the belief that man and God are one. It is little more than self-worship disguised as high-level spirituality.

Divesting yoga of the spirituality connected to it is seen as somewhat sacrilegious by those who honor its origins. That is not to say you need to recognize those things to practice yoga, though any yoga teacher worth their spit would not agree that this is copacetic. There was a piece in one of our daily newspapers some time ago about this very thing, and how true practitioners saw it as a travesty (that yoga is being treated as exercise only).

thanks Tinker for sharing your knowledge -
even though you know that most won't understand what you are saying,
we do, and we thank you for standing out and putting out the 'root'
of this demonic system that so many have been drawn to, un-knowingly...

I have general anxiety, but most of it is derived from my OCD. I also have had hormone problems so that also made my panic way way worse. So I know a little of that feel at least.

Hope this helps. A lot of mental problems can be caused by just an overload of toxic metals. They are in our airways, food and water supplies. I myself became suicidal and depressed for example three years ago during my Nutritional Balancing program, a program to eat as much cooked vegetables as possible and cut out a lot of stuff to bring back in the minerals so the body automatically starts to detox. My second Hair Mineral Analysis came back from the US and my NB coach rang me from England and asked me how I had been feelings and if I had been feeling suicidal and depressed. I was highly surprised and asked him how he would know that. They could see it from my HMA and I was dumping high levels of nickle, a metal that goes hand in hand with these mood swings. Before that event I always thought it was just the enemy attacking me in my thought life, but now I know that hings are not always that black and white. High copper for example gives racing thought, spacy and dreaminess and can make people even delusional. I hope you will find this an interesting read and that you will benefit from it. https://drlwilson.com/Articles/ANXIETY.HTM https://www.drlwilson.com/PRACTITIONERS/TOXIC SHEET.pdf God bless

Hey I get anxiety and panic attacks. Started like 10 years ago. I've managed it mostly but certain things will trigger it, especially things that are out of my control it makes me spiral. I hate it and pray about it all the time. It has nothing to do with faith because if I didn't have faith it would be so much worse. God is the only one who can really make me feel better. I have been having pretty bad anxiety lately because of losing my job, and being in lockdown. I actually feel better when I work because It takes my mind off it. So yeh being stuck at home is driving me insane

Sometimes anxiety and panic attacks is all about having too much control over your life and circumstances. When you learn to let go of your life and circumstances by giving it to Jesus and leaving it with him the anxiety will lessen. When you start to see that this actually works you will let go more and more until the anxiety diminishes.
At every opportunity it will try to come back and you have to go through the same procedure over and over until you are confident it works. Just learning this process myself.
