There is a sect of religious people in my area who have created their own communal society which appeared to work well for them for many years, until someone in the commune started taking advantage of people to the point of getting arrested. The problem is that giving one or a handful of individuals too much control over anything never goes well.

Yes, there have been numerous Christian communities in the USA, but none of them worked for very long.
The last one I tracked was Koinonia Farm in Georgia, founded by Southern Baptist minister Clarence Jordan,
which was intentionally interracial. Jordan produced the Cotton Patch Version of the New Testament,
recasting the biblical narrative into the language and social landscape of the mid-20th-century American South.

Yes, the bottom line is, humans err and someone in the system is bound to be corrupted, which is why we all look to God/Jesus as our Savior and we can't rely on man (saved or unsaved) to lead us into a perfect society because there is no such thing here on earth.

Correct, there are no perfect societies on earth. The only people who support Communism are the already desperate who wants someone to take care of them because they are incapable of taking care of themselves or the naive who think that it will lead to a compassionate way of life, when it NEVER does.

Both promote the same ideal situation, but communism claims that it can be achieved without God and Christianity recognizes that sin exists in the world and will corrupt any human endeavor and thus requires God's intervention to allow perfection, as both recognize as the ideal situation, to come about. The official atheism of communism is its fatal flaw.

But, even when Jesus returns and starts His 1000 Year reign people will still own things and not everything will be property of the state as the godless communists desire.

Each person will be responsible for not only being obedient to the Lord but also will be responsible to use their assets in ways that are pleasing to the Lord.

Until the Lord Jesus is King of this world, things always go evil. Hebrews 2:8 tells us He is not in control of this world as of yet.

A brief history, Karl Marx's manifesto published sometime in the mid 1880's and the early leaders of the Communist regime that took power in Russia in 1918 were convinced that the superiority of the Marxist doctrine laid in the fact that life originated by evolution and therefore their form of authority was superior under natural law. While they quickly took control other political states that lead to the formation of what collectively became known United Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR). While religion wasn't completely prohibited in the USSR, Atheism was required if you were connected to the State.

To prove the superiority of Communism, they tried to prove the truth of evolution since the validity of communism is intrinsically linked to the theory of evolution. The story goes that after taking power over the communist party in the early 1920, Stalin set out to prove the superiority of communism by proving that evolution was the truth.
